Anthony is the kind of guy you give a key to, so he can get in when you're not home. Completely trustworthy.
He started by fixing the ceiling. In the center there was a box of sorts. The ceiling came down about 2 feet enclosing a square about 2 feet on each side. It was about two feet across, and then the ceiling went back up. The sides were covered with cedar shingles, full of the results of years of cooking beneath the shingles. He flattened the ceiling out, and then removed all the cabinets and put down a hardwood floor. The previous owners had carpeted the kitchen -- no padding under the shag carpet. We pulled that out the same day we closed on the house.
He installed maple hardwood cabinets, the sink, and a granite countertop. Our house went from the seventies, when it was built, to today.
The whole process took weeks, but it was well worth the wait.
