Stewart Landscape Management

Great! They do most of their own technical work - irrigation, lighting, timers, design, planting, trimming, mowing, grading, etc. - which saves money & speeds work. We had Stewart's completely overhaul - replant and regrade - our property in 2014, just before we occupied the house as new owners. They also installed extensive LED lighting around the pool and in the gardens, and positioned step-stones along lighted paths. Local friends referred Stewart's based on their own successful relandscaping experience, which began with a referral from their landscape architect in Key West. Stewart's performs monthly maintenance on our property, showing up weekly to perform regular chores. Pros: - Excellent staff: Crew leaders know their stuff. Uniformed workers are polite and diligent. - One-stop-shop: The company can perform a wide array of services itself, rather than subcontracting them. - Quick response: They're 'on it'. Requests are handled promptly, thoroughly and well. - Thorough work: Installation goes the extra mile. They ground stumps farther from the surface than a prior contractor to ensure better planting results at the surface. They rototilled the entire lot several times to remove plant and weed roots. - Excellent procurement: The company secured and planted all of the plants we wanted. - Soup to nuts: The company worked directly with our Homeowners Association to secure permission for our replanting plan. - Other work: The crew trenched pipe from each downspout outlet around the house to 'burbler' devices to migrate runoff far from the foundation. They've also installed plants we supplied from local nurseries. Cons: - Personality: Jeb is an interesting guy. You have to get used to him. We like him. We know others who don't. - Referrals: Stewart's subcontracted the construction of our new fire pit patio and walkway to Southeast Pavers & Landscaping, which did a wonderful job. When we wanted additional work done later, Stewart's wouldn't subcontract to Southeastern or provide contact info for the company. Instead, Stewart's recommended that we sub the work ourselves, direct, with Goodwin's Pavers. But Goodwin's was expensive and slow, with poorly supervised workers who didn't clean up and more (see review elsewhere on AL). It turns out that Stewart's hadn't worked previously with Goodwin's, which isn't rated well on Angie's List. Bottom line lesson - always check Angie's List. Stewart's referrals may or may not be on the money. Bottom Line: Stewart's is a terrific landscaping contractor. Owner Jeb Stewart hires and trains well. The company isn't inexpensive but as with much in life, you get what you pay for.

They have performed quite a bit of work for us; the experience has been wonderful, very knowledgeable and I would recommend them to others.
