Steve and his tile setter, Javier, transformed the look of my dull, outdated floors with new ceramic wood-look tile. I value symmetry above all, and the straight rows of tile with even spacing between each tile met my very rigid standards. I received a thorough explanation of what the job would entail, as well as regular updates on the progress of the labor. In summary, I obtained a quality result in a timely manner and at a fair price. I would certainly call on these professionals again for future tiling needs.

I am very satisfied with the job that Steve did in my bathroom. He removed the bathtub and built a beautiful shower. Installed new tile in the floor and walls, installed a new vanity, faucet and shower door. I highly recommend this contractor. Thanks Steve for your advice, help and great job.

My wife and I have used Steve Apakian for tile work quit a few times through the years. He has always been very knowledgeable, pleasant, and easy to work with. Every single time we have used Steve, he has been honest, forthright and professional. His quality of work is impeccable. This is the eighth time that we have used Steve. We would use Steve on any future project(s) that would arise. Without question we recommend him wholeheartedly.

First, let me say i love my bathroom. It is so beautiful. Steve was very knowledgeable and professional. They covered my furniture so it wouldn't get dusty every day. The work went well and they finished in the time frame they said it would. When I'm ready to do my other bathroom tile at its best is who i am gonna use again.

I looked around and waited for the right contractor Steve was very helpful and the work was done with perfection the job was finished on time, if Steve was running late he always called I did at first have some concerns about the mess but everything was cleaned up I'm very pleased and very happy that I went with this company. Went so well I had them come back to tile my entire home. It all went fantastic and is so beautiful!! When people come over they always comment. I have referred Tile At Its Best to four people. All were absolutely thrilled!!!

Where do I start. This was the worst experience I have had with a contractor. Steve Apakian was referred to me by my neighbor who he had done some work for. Steve started the job using one guy, also named Steve to remove the old carpet and baseboard from the house. The removal of the baseboard was done without a razor to cut the paint line so it ended up doing damage to the existing paint. I asked Steve Apakian if he was going to put the baseboard back, and he told me "yes, they would take care of it", along with trimming the doors to fit the new tile, and doing the transitions where the carpet met the new tile. Steve refused to give me a time frame for the job but said it would take aprox. 3-5 days, and it would definitely be done by Christmas. It took 3 weeks from start to finish, and ended the first weekend in January 2016. The reason for this is because Steve only has one person who does tile, and he was "working on other jobs". His tile guy, Marcus, would come for a few hours here and there but never worked a full day at my house and never worked for multiple days in a row, there were entire days where they would not show up. Steve told me they were on "Mexican time", that was not a sufficient excuse for me. Marcus has one assistant, his brother, who helps him lay tile. Steve attempted to have his demolition guy, also named Steve, work with Marcus. Marcus became upset and told Steve (demolition guy) to leave the job. I heard them yell at each other in my house and Marcus tell Steve (demo) to leave.  Steve Apakian, the owner does not actually do any of this work himself. Marcus, his tile guy, finally finished laying the tile, 3 weeks after the start date. I asked Steve when they would be putting back the baseboard and trimming the doors, etc. He told me that he could get someone to do that but it would be additional money. When I confronted him about what he had told me in person, he told me to "look at the estimate" which did not specifically mention the baseboard, thresholds, etc. The estimate was very vague. It said they would lay tile in an 800 sq ft section of the house and remove any debris. I asked Steve to get me a written price to do the additional work. He never gave me one. He did attempt to do one out of three of the thresh holds upstairs. This is the only time I actually saw him do work himself. He cut the carpet too short and then told me that he "did not feel confident doing the thresh holds" after he had already damaged my carpet. He told me to call a carpet guy to "stretch the carpet" that he cut too short. When I asked him about a price for the doors and baseboard he told me that the doors where expensive and he didn't feel confident cutting them and that I needed a carpenter to do that. So the job was left unfinished. On to the tile, several tiles are uneven, some tiles are chipped and many of them are not level. The main threshold in the living room (the only one they actually completed) is not level at all. There are gaps in between the tile that I have to re grout myself because there is no grout in between them. There are huge gaps in between the tile and the wall. Overall, this was my worst experience to date. Not only did these guys have my house torn apart for 3 weeks, they treated it like it was a full renovation with no attention to there mess. I had to tell them not to cut the tile and mix the grout inside more than one time. The owner Steve Apakian straight up lied to myself and my fiance and when one of us would confront him about something he promised to do he would say that he had told the other person about that detail, which we found out was not true. For example I would ask him why he was not coming to work on my house and he would say "oh I told your fiance we had another job to go to and she agreed we could go". I asked my fiance and she told me that no she did not say that. This happened many times throughout the experience. Steve ordered too much tile, and again told us in person that he would return the excess and give us the money back. He never returned anything, he told us that was our responsibility. Stay far far away from this guy, he does very poor work and provides horrible service. I don't know if he is licensed or not but judging by the quality of the work done, I would guess he is not. Now I have to try and find someone who is willing to install baseboard, trim the doors and do the thresh holds, basically finish his job.

First off I would like to say check all references of workers as well as contractors. My First time experience was a horror show. The workers showed up for work and broke my water line the contractor worked with him till 8:30 that night. The next day this same employee broke a statue also. These workers showed up with food expecting to use my microwave, they never placed a plastic sheet as promised by the contractor over the door for the dust and dirt. The house smelled of sewage, and dirt and dust for three weeks. Initially he told me these were professional help? They left their tools every day in my yard, garage and bedroom. They would argue with the contractor constantly. Every item they finished they went back over. They were careless, lacked professionalism, had no means of transportation, and spent half the time just wasting time? Although, I had told him I should fire him, I had hoped he would make good on his promises. For the money I paid I'm certain he could have found more qualified help. TOTALLY UNHAPPY

Very good. In fact he fixed all stains on new wall at no cost.
