This was in October of 2015. About a month ago, (January), I noticed that the area above the tank was muddy and wet. We had had about a week's worth of rain - and since, where the tank sits is a low spot in the yard, I crossed my fingers and hoped that it was just the remnants of the rain we had had. A week later, It was still wet... In the last month or so, it has turned into a small pond! Luckily, there isn't much odor, but it is nasty. I feared that the drain field had failed, since it was just cleaned out 3 months ago. Today, I decided to dig around the tank to see if there were any visible broken lines. I started to dig through the standing water and muck on top of the tank and pulled up the edge of something - vinyl and yellow... As I kept digging and removing some of the standing water, it became obvious that this yellow vinyl was an old raincoat. Now I was very confused. That was definitely NOT there when the plumber was out and dug..I used the shovel to fold back the raincoat and probed the lid of the tank to see what was going on.Since there's still about a couple of inches of nasty black water on top - I couldn't visibly see the lid. As I started from one end, I tapped the top of the lid with the shovel, tapping every couple of inches or so, moving along the length of the tank, about a foot along the tank there was nothing to tap... then tank again. I went back to where there was nothing.. and found that the whole lid of the tank was cracked in half. Brian had shattered the lid of the tank, then put back the pieces and covered the missing lid area with an old raincoat before covering it back up with dirt! He needed to put the raincoat over it so there would be something to pile the dirt back up on and conceal the broken lid! The weight of the rain and mud has now caused the raincoat to sag into the tank along with the dirt that was on top of it.
This company has great reviews on Angie's List. I'm sure that at one time Septic Medic was a fair and decent company - but in my case, I can only go by the evidence I've found. I'm not sure how a raincoat could have gotten under 8 inches of dirt and spread out flat on top of the tank's cracked lid unless someone put it there. The only company that last worked on the tank was Septic Medics. Anyone that would do what they did, and then try and cover it up WITH A RAINCOAT should lose their license! This is raw sewage we're talking about. It is a health hazard and should not be messed around with. Not to mention, I have a child that plays in the yard. If she had stepped in the spot where only the raincoat was covering the tank - she surely would have fallen into that mess! Not only am I out $250 - but I now need to get someone in that may or may not be able to replace a 45 year old tank lid! My guess is the whole tank will now need replacing! Definitely not pleased!
"This complaint really has me confused, after 3 paragraphs of complaining, it seems to me that a customer that was this upset and totally dissatisfied with the service he received from my employee, he would have called and expressed his concerns with someone of authority, which he never has of yet. This is the way I leaned of his issue. In fact when got there and his tank was overflowing , we explain indicates that he has further issues with the drain field but he did not want us to do anything but pump the septic tank. After we completed pumping the tank, we covered the tank exactly how we found it, the customers total charge was only $250, which is our minimum charge for septic tank pumping. I don't understand why I was never contacted and he wrote this derogatory issue almos 5 months after the service call"
Guy named Brian did the work in less than 1/2 hour and refused a check from my wife. Once he left, Brian started sending flirtatious texts to my wife and tried to get her to meet him. My wife reminded him that she is married and the texts stopped...for that day. A couple of days later he contacted my wife again via text and continued to try to engage her.
This Brian is a snake, and I have no doubt this is not the first time or the last time he tries to seduce someone else's wife.
"My name is Andy Tolomeo, the president of Septic Medic. I am talking to Brian, my grandson, concerning this issue, he claims you are out of line with your unsupported slanderous statements. I have complete confidence in Brian's integrity. I don't know why are saying these things, if you have proof, lets see it, if you don't we will seek legal options on how to pursue you.."
"This customer is located 14 miles west of our company. We always call our customer ahead to inform them that our truck is on its way and to be sure they are present, no one said anything to us about a storm tacking place. My employees are not enthused to drag hoses and pump tanks in stormy conditions, however they are dedicated to try to serve the customers needs. I commend my employee for completing this task under the circumstances. I really am confused with the customers ratings of Bs,Cs and Ds"
