I had a horrible experience with another provider who failed to complete the work originally. I received a referral for this company from a tile distributor. Because I had already spent a considerable amount of money on the floors, I was very hesitant to invest further funds. However, Jeff, the associate who came to do the bid and see the floors specifically said I was going to "fall in love with him" once the floors were done. The biggest problem with the floors was ghosting which is essentially a shadow pattern left on the floor from years of tile being placed over it. He assured me that due to his process he would be able to remove it. He said he was so confident with his work that he would not even take a deposit from me, that he would do the work and I could pay him when it was done.
His associate, Vincent, spent several days well into the night working on the floors. The ones in the bedroom, where carpet had been, came out unbelievably gorgeous. The ones in the living room, where the tile and subsequent ghosting had been, looked better but the ghosting was still obviously present. When I questioned Jeff about this (who I was now speaking to over the phone and had not seen again since my initial meeting) he said he did his best and that he was confident, since the ghosting was caused by moisture, that it would eventually fade away. He was so confident, he said, that he was going to send me a contract to the new owner of the property (this was an investment that I'm selling) that if the ghosting was not gone after 6 weeks of their purchase, that he would come back and do the floor again. I was thrilled, of course, with this and happily wrote the check for the full amount of the work.
On June 6 is when I sent Jeff my email address for the contract he promised. On June 8 he texted me to tell me he hadn't forgotten about me and that he would send it that day.  When I hadn't received it by June 12, I texted him a reminder so he could send it over.  No response. On June 24 I texted him another reminder that I hadn't received it and also to ask what I should be using on the floors to maintain shine and keep them clean. No response. On June 28 I sent another text letting him know I still hadn't received the contract (I had also left several voice messages throughout this time) and if our business is concluded, just let me know and I would stop contacting him. I finally received a response that he had been hurt on a job and was out of commission, but that he would send the contract that night and also call me on Monday, June 30.  I said I was sorry he was hurt, to just send to me when he was able.  I received neither the email nor the phone call. Yesterday, July 7, I sent another text saying that I'd give it one more try to reach out to him. No response.
I'm so unbelievably disappointed as I truly thought I had found someone who I could trust to do this type of work. I purchase homes with terrazzo that needs to be restored and I would have LOVED to use this company again. I am so frustrated and completely dismayed as to why things turned out this way. So so so bummed. I thought I had found a good one.
