Home Inspection
He came highly recommended from my banker who used him for her parent's place too.This was for an investment condo and spent about 3 hrs going through the place. If necessary to make an assessment he did some very minor repairs when he could to continue. eg To test the smoke detectors he replaced the batteries and even clean and unclogged the garbage disposal to test the dish washer.
Though he was a bit more expensive ($25) than a previous inspector I had used he spent 3 times as long and his written report only briefly summarises what he tells you in person (I wished I had kept a voice recording). To me it was willingness to be thorough and the attention to small detail that impressed me. (The smoke detector experience is a good example. With a previous inspector I would have gotten a note telling me that either the battery had died or I had to replace the smoke detector.)
