I won an Ebay bid for a used car sight unseen. It was advertised in excellent condition with no flaws or mechanical issues. I purchased an extended warranty there as well. 1. The dealer added a markup to the price of the car that was in excess of the ebay price. 2. The car clearly had mechanical issues that I've had to fix for safety reasons. The owner's only response was "why didn't you bring it back within 24 hours" which is his "warranty period". It had two badly balanced tires, a bad CV joint and two failed motor mounts. 3. The extended warranty I purchased (from a third party, recommended by the owner) for approximately $2400 has been very disappointing. It did not cover the CV joint or the motor mounts. It did cover a failed air conditioner compressor. Over all, the owner was courteous and professional, but with the unexpected markup, clear mechanical discrepancies, disappointing warranty and lack of any help from the dealer, my experience has been less than pleasant.

"the eBay listing provides all detailed description and disclosure of every vehicle, we do recommend a third party inspection prior making the sale and as described we sell wholesale to public and all vehicles are sold AS-IS. the vehicle was in great conditon in and out and mechanicly, the buyer did not contact us about any issues until 30 days after taking delivery of the vehicle. we provide great extended waranties and we did not overcharge 1 penny from the listing winning amount and fees."
