I was called on January 9th, the Friday before the scheduled installation on Monday that my carpet I ordered was back ordered and wouldn't be in for at least another 10 days. Not sure why this wasn't told to me the month before at the time of my order! The installation didn't happen until January 21, six WEEKS after the order. When the installers got to the building on Jan 21 they told me the building wouldn't let them cut the carpet downstairs so they would have to come back in 2 days. Admittedly I live in a condo with a lot of regulations but the salesperson at Dolphin repeatedly assured me that he would contact management and get all the required rules and regulations. The installers told me they wouldn't leave to cut the carpet because they wouldn't be paid for their time. The manager of the store finally called me and offered to clean the old carpet I had to live with due to the late installation but it wouldn't have helped due to condition of the carpet. I found all the sales people and the manager extremely arrogant, unreliable, unconcerned and unapologetic about the delay and trouble in getting the carpet installed. The carpet installers were rude and unhelpful. I felt that they were all very unprofessional and sleazy in their business dealings. They did offer me $200 off my bill for the trouble but it wasn't even worth it after all the rearranging of othe deliveries and days off from work I had to take. They also never provided me with a breakdown of the actual bill and carpet cost and gave me only rough figures so I don't even know if that actually occurred. The manager gave me two different prices for my COD balance the day before delivery.
I also ordered a designer carpeting that was patterned and wanted it to go in a certain direction. I told the salesperson that I wanted it in that direction when I purchased it and he said no problem like everything else. When the installer came, he told me it was impossible to do in that direction. It was all about getting the sale with no truthfulness at all. From start to finish it was a disaster.
I would also be wary of the contracts that you sign with them because they have a lot of restrictive language that prevents any recourse Like canceling your order and I should not have given them a 50% deposit. Do not do. Read the front and back of the sales forms they ask you to sign. I would warn anyone about using this particular store of this well-known dealer. It was a horrible experience from start to finish and reminded me of the very worst stereotypical sleazy used car salesmen. No offense to reputable used car salesmen out there!
Most horrible experience ever! Would absolutely NEVER recommend! The installers, which were provided by the company, refused to fix problems they caused when installing. There were scratches on the laminate after moving the refrigerator back to it's original position after installation. They put pieces of cardboard under the laminate during installation which caused lumps, and refused to remove it as I requested. They also put divider pieces in the hallway between two bedrooms, which I didn't ask for. And when I asked them to remove it, they refused to do so. It was also difficult to communicate with the installers due to language barrier. When I called our salesman for assistance, he pushed aside our complaints which resulted with no resolution. We also called cooperate and met with the regional manager. The regional manager came to our home and witnessed the damages caused by the installers, he choose their side and refused to fix the problem areas whatsoever. He was very arrogant. Therefore, we still have the lumps and the scratches. Did I also mention that the quality of laminate is horrible as well. Scratches easily and water damages easily.
