This was quite an ordeal and took way too long, pandemic or no. It took about 9 months. Contractor did not stay on top of paperwork and would have missed deadlines, costing me money, if I hadn't stepped in to do what I thought he was doing. Workers showed up or not, you never knew, despite who contractor said was coming that day; contractor would not or perhaps could not tell us who would show up when. He didn't hesitate to tell us he wasn't making any money on our $17,000 job. Work was good with two exceptions: a square piece of cabinet veneer was broken during flooring work, but contractor won't fix it, and contractor's plumber damaged pipe below toilet being replaced, $300 repair cost, if it was already broken he should have told me. Toilet was never installed correctly and shot water out around the base. I didn't even bother asking the contractor to reimburse this as I knew he wouldn't. There were significant lInguistic problems with the contractor, whose native language is Hebrew and whose English had serious shortcomings. I'm Jewish too.
