They are very professional. They tell you over the phone their trip charge. They come, go into the pool with diving gear until they determine where exactly the leak is and then they patch it. The final price is determined by how complicated that repair is.

I have used American Leak detection (owner Larry) several times in the past to find pool leaks, and they always were able to find the leak in one of two visits, were prompt, friendly and cooperative, and did a good job, and repaired the leaks. One time this required removing 3 patio tiles to fix a pipe leak, one time was a crack in the wall, and at least once in the pool light, and I was happy each time with the work.
I had tried to find and fix the most recent leak myself the summer of 2013 , even took out the lights from the niches and put new silicone where the wires enter the conduit and did minor fixes at other usual places for leaks- the water seemed to stop dropping at the level of the lights. I could not find and fix it after a couple months , so I called them in October of 2013. I had wanted to regrout the pool in January or February of 2014 (pool is fully tiled) and the leak needed to be fixed first. Larry could not find the leak after multiple visits until a couple months ago. The pool is a bit more complicated that average, with built in cleaning whips, solar heating and automatic chlorinator. They eventually think they found it ( I think it is fixed but it can be difficult to tell with all the rain) in an old 3 way valve which was part of the old sand filter backwash system no longer in use (replaced 7 years ago with cartridge filter system). i am glad they found the leak. i just wish it had been done in less than 3 months (took aboutl 10 months) so I could have regrouted the pool last winter. There was often over a month between visits even when we knew it was still leaking. The price was a bargain given the number of times they came to try to find and fix it, but i can't say if there could have been a way to find it quicker.

They basically took our money and ran. Do not trust these gentlemen. They were very courteous the first time they came out to the house. After they took our money they did not live up to their end of the deal and now we are left with a leaking pool and wasted money.,

I asked the pool shop where I buy my pool supplies to check my pool for leaks. The water would draw down to the skimmer level and stop. They sent a service man who just looked at it and and told me that the skimmer was wronging installed when the pool was built and that the skimmer needed to be replaced. He said it would cost $1200 and maybe more if they found, after digging, that the main pipe what was was also bad. This did not sound professional to me.
Called Leak Detectors. They set an appointment and came on time. They had air tanks and pluged up the outlets and tested the whole thing under pressure. They found the exact point of leak and plugged it up - pool working fine now with out a leak, total cost $230.
Th fix is temporary but should hold until we can make a permanent fix. Four day later got a written estimate from Leak Detectors for the permanent fix. Only $630. With the leak test and the permanent fix the total will be a for sure $860 vs the other company's $1200 plus plus plus!

Father and son team showed up on time on the day promised, they were very courteous and professional. They found that the leak was in the skimmer area and were able to repair the damage; it was a pleasure dealing with them.

I am very picky, but this company is very good. There prices were as reasonable as other places.

The initial phone call to get information was probably the least pleasant part of the experience. The person answering the phone, Harriett, needs to learn some basic phone/sales etiquette and put a smile in her voice.
She gave me a quote and added me to the schedule. I think it was $295. but I could be a little off.
The guys showed up on time, a father and son team, were very friendly and personable. They got right to work and found the leak in no time.
My only complaint is that they did not repair the leak as I was under the impression from the appointment call. They said they could and that someone from the office would call to arrange it.
They never did. - Fortunately the leak was in a water feature that we could turn off so at least it's not leaking any more.
I called and left a message re: the repair but never heard back from them.
I am disappointed I still have to locate someone who can make the repair for me but am happy the leak was detected.

They did a really good job and had good quality. You could not even tell that the pavers were adjusted and the leak has been gone since they fixed it. They came when they said and had it done when they said they would. I will use them again in the future.

So, he suggested American Leak. I called and scheduled an appointment. They came on time and made an analysis. There was no running leak detected. He did this by checking the water meter activity. There was no charge for the visit. I would use them again; very professional service and I was satisfied with the service. I called another plumber who found a leak in the kitchen sink drain that was running under the floor into the adjoining utility room.

This is my first interaction with him. I liked the fact that he found the leak but he ended up putting one with a height from the fountain, and I had to get that repaired. It took him a few days to get here to find the leak. I will use his services again in the future.

They showed up when they said they would. They charged me what they said they would charge me. They fixed the leak. They actually went above and beyond, because they actually detected the leak, too.

Our experience with this company was most pleasant, from the first contact with the office staff, through the testing, written report on our pool problem and payment for service. It is a family owned business. The father and son team showed up on time, went about the job of testing in a careful well thought out manner. Their calm, confident way of moving around our pool, which was dangerously low on water, reduced my stress level right away. They answered all my questions. In paying the bill, I thought the charge was $275.00. I was told no, the charge was less, $230.00. They are very honest. Their work is guaranteed in writing on their invoice. The level of service we received from this company is hard to find in south florida.

Got a report that accurately described the tests performed and properly identified a leak where I supposed it would be in first place.

He was very professional. He wasn't able to pinpoint the leak so he didn't charge me. He was very reputable and honest.

They are busy and it was difficult to get through to the office and set up the appointment. We had to wait several days for them to work us into the schedule. The wait was worth the service they provided. They were very professional and quick. They explained what they were doing and the cost was provided before service was performed. No surprises. WE were very pleased.

They were on time, very professional, and are pet friendly. They located the leak and fixed it in a timely fashion. They guarantee their work as well.
