+ -1 moreRaeme was johnny on the spot when I called for an estimate. He arrived the same day and gave us a quick and fair verbal estimate. He said he could start by the first of the next week and would forward us a written estimate w/ in a couple of days. Those went by, we heard nothing. We texted him MANY times, no response. My husband finally called and Raeme said he hadn't been back to the office but would get us the quote and then would set an appointment. NOTHING. We called many times after and finally I called from a different # and he answered. I told him if he didn't want the job he just had to say so and he assured me he wanted to begin work right away! He said that he still was getting it to us and would get the appointment set...NOTHING we have never heard a thing from him and this was BACK IN JULY, its September. He had suggested my husband cut out the drywall for me to see if I would be happy w/ just a pass through making it more cost effective so my husband had done so!!!! AND THIS GUY FELL OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH! RIDICULOUS! We hired another contractor who was SUPER, gave a written estimate on site, back the next day and work was completed w/in 2 days.

+ -1 moreWe remodeled and expanded the master bath in a 1968 house. We had to tear out down to studs and reconfigure walls, doors, plumbing and electrical. Tom and Rame Baetens (father and son) worked on the project together with their sub contractors. They personally did the framing, drywall, cabinets and other carpentry and used subs for plumbing, electrical, and tile. One or both of them was on the project almost every day for 6 weeks plus. They always came to check on subs even when they had nothing that they could do themselves. They handled the architectural drawings and permits and were present for every inspection all of which passed on the first try. They were very professional, honest, and easy to work with throughout the project, and we were only slightly over our expected budget. We interviewed several contractors and bathroom remodelers before we found Rame Baetens, and we are so glad we did. We would highly recommend them for any remodeling project large or small, and we hope to hire them in the future for further renovation.

They completely gutted the bathroom, blocked in a 4' x 8' window that was IN the shower, and built a completely new shower with handicap bars and installed a new toilet with handicap bar. Our former shower measured 2' x 6'; the new one is 4' x 6' with double shower heads and a sliding glass door. It is a beautiful space and completely safe. The only thing that really seemed to hold things up was the inspections. For a bathroom there were many and the inspectors just couldn't get their act together to coordinate. This had very little to do with Rame but it was a factor.
Description of Work: They completely remodeled our bathroom to be handicap accessible. Our former shower had three steps to get in / out. The shower tile was very slippery and it had become a danger.

+ 0 moreDo be prepared to make a lot of decisions as the process goes on. Do be patient with the level of noise that comes if you are in residence. the whole process went very well and surpassed my expectations. I really feel blessed to have found this company. I hired real craftsmen who take pride in their work. And only work with those who do as well.
Description of Work: I hired Thomas Baetens construction to build an architect designed addition to my home. The plans included a tear down of the original flat roofed back porch, a new roof, an additional out building with full bath as well as a 24 x 14 great room addition and fireplace. I was updating a 1972 house with new windows and doors. It was by no means a small project. Rame and Travis were always professional and very respectful of my time and money. I could have gone with one other bid which was lower but I really appreciated the time and energy that went into detail of the proposal. This job had lots of challenges melding the new construction into the old so that it appears seamless . All the finish work is beautiful and the work and construction was done by Rame and Travis. The subcontractors were all very professional and did beautiful work as well. Rame is not shy about his standards with his subs. And will insist things are redone if necessary so the work is perfection. I believe I ended up with a home I do not have to worry about the quality of the work. I was very pleased that as the construction process was going on the daily communications about each step and fixing flaws in the existing house were readily pointed out. Even long distance as I was travelling a lot during this process. Damage to the original structure due to age and lack of maintenance by the original owner were corrected as the building process went along. I was prepared for cost overruns due to the age of the house and roof. I did replace the tile roof with another tile roof and am very pleased with it.
