I'm a first-time homeowner and have heard you should drain the water heater every so often to keep it running well and remove build-up. My water heater had not been drained in the 5 years I have owned my home. It was working fine, but I thought I could watch a Do-It-Yourself video on the internet to learn how to do it...no problem. It didn't go well. I couldn't get the water to come through the hose more than a trickle so I decided to just give up and maybe call for assistance when it would be convenient or just wait until the thing completely failed. I closed the pressure relief valve and re-tightened the drain valve. The pressure relief valve didn't seem to be as tight as before and then the drain valve developed a slow dripping leak. So here I was trying to do the right thing on something that wasn't broken and I had made it worse than before. Since the leak was not severe I figured it was not an emergency, and there was no water or hissing noise coming from the pressure relief valve. I called Edward J. Hauck Inc the next morning and the tech was out within a couple of hours. He informed me that  some sediment had lodged in the drain valve and prevented the system from sealing completely. He had special adapters he was able to attach to my water heater to get a better flow out and completely drain and clean out the years of accumulated sediment and gunk, and replaced the drain valve with a new one. He also checked the pressure relief valve and assured me that it was fine. I thought the price was very fair, especially for the peace of mind to know I wasn't going to have a disaster with water everywhere, and that my water heater was still working fine in spite of the years of neglect. I now feel confident that I have found a plumber I can call for any other needs that may arise, and that I will be treated well.

The owner and his son came out, reviewed the situation, put in a temporary patch to keep the pilot lite until a replacement part could be ordered and installed.

Edward J. Hauck, Inc Master Plumbers came to my home to do a number items I needed to have done.  They came and did a outstanding job and met all my expectations and they charged a reasonable and fair price.  I used them after having another plumber come and estimated the job at approximately three times as much as HAUCK PLUMBING.

They jackhammered the terrazzo floors and then replaced them. All of that went fine. They came back the next day to make sure that the concrete was dry. They ended-up charging us over $100.00. We were quite appalled as they only came back to just look, but said that it was a full service call.
