If you are a Volvo owner and have ever been to the dealer for maintenance and/or repairs then you know all about sticker shock! A-1 Auto is nothing like the dealer when it comes to maintaining and repairing your car. They took care of my wife's Volvo for years. I personally never contacted them but was very impressed with things she would tell me about how they treated her as a customer, with fairness and professionalism. Their prices were well below other quotes and especially the dealer and all the repairs were done properly and we never had to return for the same issue again. The item that brought us to A-1 was when the A/C compressor failed to keep the car cool. My wife got a dealer quote and they recommended replacing the compressor because the engagement clutch was not making contact and thus the compressor was not able to compress the freon to make the car cool. Well the dealer quote was a shock in it self, so she (being and engineer) went to the internet to understand how the A/C clutch worked and what could be done to fix it. She found that there was an adjustment that could be made to move the clutch plate closer so it could engage the compressor and work. Granted there was no guarantee how long the clutch plate would last since it was already 9 years old but for an inexpensive fix to have cold air and not pay the $$$$ for a compressor replacement it was worth the chance. A-1 was more than willing to adjust the plate and get the system working again! How many shops do you know of that listen to a customer and actually repair something rather than taking the easy way out by just replacing it?
I'm so glad we came to use this company. They treated us like family, even sending a Christmas card every year. They even advised us that because of the age of the car, we were starting to need new hoses and some minor oil leaks were beginning to appear and they told us that it was going to become expensive to maintain. We subsequently traded the car in for a new car before the repairs would cost more than the trade in value we got for the 12 year old car.
A-1 is an A++ company to do business with and I would, without any reservation, recommend them to anyone needing maintenance or repair of their car or truck, especially if you are out of warranty. Don't be trapped by your dealer anymore!

For an independent garage it is probably one of the best that I have found. They are really special people and they had a great technicians, they deal in higher end cars. They are very close to Jupiter Island which is where all the rich folks live. They took me in one day and I didn't have an appointment and they got it done for me, which is very impressive. I would use them again.

It went as expected. They diagnosed the problem correctly and provided a solution that resolved the problem.

The place is clean, comfortable and the customer service is unbeatable.
