McCall's TV Sales & Svc

When the HDMI one input went out after a close proximity lightening strike near our home in Gainesville, I spoke with Heather at McCall's and she explained that the HDMI circuit boards are very sensitive to power surges.  Since the TV was 7 years old, she felt replacing it made the most sense.  Since the HDMI two input still worked I opted to just switch to that input for now.   Approximately two months later, the #2 input went out.  On line I discovered, that plasma tv's are no longer made nor are parts.  However, I did find a tech site which answered a question about the HDMI inputs going out on this set and they gave the part number that needed to be replaced.  I found the part on eBay.  I spoke with Heather and she was unable to get the part from her distributor but said if I could get the part they'd put it in.  In order to get the part from the eBay seller (Sen Alagic, 8608 Frontenac St. Philadelphia, PA 19152, Tel: 215-742-9654 215-742-9654) I needed to send him  my defective board so they could match it exactly and also then have a board to repair and resell.  So Marco from McCall's came out (he was terrific, on time and very friendly but professional and competent.) and took out my defective board which I sent to Phili.  Sen sent back my board repaired and Marco came back, intstalled it and also looked at my entire system which showed that the HDMI input on my home theater tuner was also knocked out.  He fixed this by using the HDMI output directly from the cable box.  The sound is separate and was not affected by any of this.  The initial service call was $214 but they charged only $185 for the second visit.
    Throughout, Heather, Marco and Sen could not have been more helpful, friendly and professional.  In fact, Marco took Sen's information for their future use.  We would definitely use all of them again and give them our highest recommendation.
