+ -1 moreAVOID THIS GUY!!! RUN, RUN RUN... DON'T EVEN CALL HIM, HE'S NUTS AND SEE-NILE... I can't be more expressive about what an A@##$%^&*e this guy is. There is no way I can express this more!!! I took him two tables to re-finish the tops on a dinning table and a side table. We agreed on a price and when the job would be finished. Forget when the job was finished, that's not important, HE NEVER DID THE JOB THE WAY WE AGREED ON!!! All he did was take two cans of spray paint and sprayed the tops. To be able to get my furniture back, I had to call the cops. What a nightmare this could have turned out to be. Not only that, he didn't want to refund my deposit until I told the cops I was going to press charges. I made a hand written receipt and made him sign it and then left him a hand written receipt with my phone number. I showed it to the cops and they agreed that this was a receipt. When the cop put the hand cuffs on him, he returned $30 of the $50 I left him for a deposit. I got my furniture out of there and now I'm looking for someone else to do the job. I learned my lesson again to separate business and my personal feelings towards someone that you feel sorry for. Looking at the guy you feel sorry for him and you want to help him. Screw that, did I mention he's a thief!!! If you do business with this guy, you're going to regret it. AVOID HIM OR YOU'LL BE SORRY!!! HE'S A SWINDLER!!! RUN RUN RUN...

+ -1 moreI believe my explanation above is very detailed. The results were not good at all. I asked for "satin" finish, both pieces are too shiny.
Description of Work: While Mr. Simeon appears to be a nice older gentleman, he should stop doing furniture refinishing. I cannot attest to his work on rattan furniture, his work was on solid, excellent quality wood furniture. I engaged his services to have two pieces refinished, I had other very valuable pieces but decided it would be best if I tried him out first with two not so expensive or complicated pieces. Am I glad I did! When I showed him one of the valuable pieces so he could give me an estimate, he was completely confused about what I wanted done to the outside of one of the drawers. I explained it over and over and he still didn't get it. Right then and there I decided he was not qualified to work on this expensive piece since he couldn't comprehend simple instructions. I'm 65, Mr. Simeon appears to be much older than I and is a small, very thin man. Like Clint said, a man has to know his limitations. He has no help, yet he moves and lifts furniture into and out of his van by himself. While he may consider this a feat, I consider it dangerous when handling my expensive pieces which could be dropped or scratched since there's no additional help available. He cannot possibly have the strength to safely and properly move and lift heavier pieces. His workspace is small and very dark, the brushes he showed me all looked frayed and very used, I wasn't impressed by the surroundings, I was horrified. For an older person to work in such a dark space can only lead to unsatisfactory refinishing results as evidenced in the pieces he did for me. After the age of 50 most of us have to start using prescription glasses, he does not wear glasses. I gave this company a D for "price" because the results I received are almost worthless, I must have one of these pieces refinished to fix his misses. I'll chalk up these $280.00 to a learning experience and, like I said, I am glad I did not give him my other expensive, very heavy pieces. It appears that it's quite difficult to find reliable, reputable, cost-conscious furniture refinishers in the Miami area. I am now trying another refinisher who came highly recommended, I'll report on his results once he's done in @3 weeks.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID A VERY NEAT JOB. THEY SAID IT WOULD NOT TAKE LONG AND IT DID NOT. THE LEGS WERE SPLITTING AND THEY WRAPPED THEM WITH NEW RATTAN.
Description of Work: THEY HAD TO REPAIR THE LEGS AND CASTERS ON A RATTAN CHAIR.
