Cost is $249 for the 1st 1,000 gallons. I have a 1,000 gallon tank and it was full. Has a concrete sectional lid that was a bit difficult to open. Everything went well and nothing was broken. I suggest Angie's customers not allow the tank driver to park on their driveway. These trucks are heavy and can break a concrete driveway. Have them park in the road and run an extra section of hose. I am looking into installing a cleanout port to make future pumping easier. Payless indicated they could do this for $900, which seemed high, I will wait and look into alternatives.

Very diffficult job for them since it had never been done and a large palm tree was growing over the tank. We had an emergency situation with sewage backing up into the house and guests staying with us. Got us back in business that day and then had to come back a second day (after the palm was moved). Communication was great. They came when they said they would and owner actually did a large amount of the work including digging himself. Very nice, honest people. Only positive experience which is saying a lot considering the type if work! Will def use them in the future and recommend them highly!

Overall, Payless's performance was below average for a service I have had before several times before as a septic tank owner. I called to have my full, 1250 gallon septic tank with a concrete lid pumped. The receptionist was friendly and professional explaining the pricing of $199 for the first 1000 gallons. It would be a flat $139 extra for anything more between 1000-2000 gallons. That meant my extra 250 gallons cost me a pricey $338 total, but because I am an Angie's List member I was given a "deal" of a $299, pricey IMHO. But I was very pleased when she assigned me a first appointment time of 8:30 am the next day and told me I would be called in advance of arrival. I very specifically told the receptionist that the technician would need to bring cement to reset the large concrete cover and she responded "of course". 8:30 comes and goes without a call or arrival; the professionalism is gone and the nightmare begins. I explain to the receptionist that I, as the customer, should not be the one initiating this call after the no-show. I am told the technician didn't empty out the 4000 gallon capacity truck from the night before. An hour later, a lethargic, young technician shows up with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth full of excuses. He tells me he is only half an hour late at 9:30 because he has a half hour window from 8:30-9 to show up and I should feel sorry for him because he had to get up early to empty the truck. Apparently not early enough to show up on time though. This "window" talk is news to me. The pumping is completed and his unpreparedness continues to dominate, He points out some minor roots to me and I said "aren't you going to pull those off the intake hole like the 5 times the tank has been pumped in the last 12 years?" He answers that "There are cameras on the truck." What does that have to do with anything? He then tells me that he can't pressure wash off the roots "for free" because of the cameras and that pressure washing is $125." Everyone else I've ever had come out just bent over and pulled the roots off the intake hole so this was clearly an upsell. He does a great job pressure washing the tank, but leaves 3 fence panels, front and back, of the adjacent white PVC fence covered in spatter that I end up hosing down myself. He doesn't use a tarp to collect the soil off the top of the tank that he shovels onto the nearby sod. When he's done, he fills the hole with broken cement from the previous seal creating a trip hazard next to a fence gate, The soil is lost in the sod. Remember the cement he was to have on hand to reseal the lid...he didn't bring that with him either, and we wait for his boss to bring it. He has no gloves to wear while he mixes the cement and complains that his hands are hurting so I tell him to hose them off. He leaves 4 different sets of cement finger prints on my white PVC fence (I have the photos) and one of them dried to the point I can't get the haze off. I will never hire nor recommend this company to even my worst enemy. Being visibly upset, I was presented out of the blue with a discounted bill of $199. I originally agreed to pay pumping at $299 and the added pressure cleaning was $125=$424. In order to write an unbiased review uninfluenced by a last ditch discount for a terrible experience I wrote a check for $424 which has been cashed. The other reviewers must not have had the technician I got stuck with. He was definitely not an Eagle Scout with the Be Prepared motto.

I was in a panic with two out of three bathrooms backing up and after the plumber (Admiral) who advised it was the septic system.
Henry and Steve came out within hours of placing the service call and cleaned out the septic tank and filter.
As i informed Henry, I am normally reluctant to hire out a company with little feedback; but they were recommended by another septic system company.
There was evidence of roots that appeared to have invaded the system through the drain's opening and that will be additional work and provided me with quotes.
I've had a few companies clean out the septic tank over the past 16 years and I would recommend them based on their response time, professionalism, knowledge and work product.

The gentleman that came and did it was pretty friendly. We got along pretty good. We chatted for a while. He was an older gentleman and he was about to retire. We just talked about it a little bit. He gave me some tips on what to do because I've never had a septic in my house before. This is the first house on a septic system. So he gave me some good pointers. It was pretty helpful. I enjoyed that experience. I felt that he overcharged because I had that done before for much less. But, these are different times and prices are different. So, maybe I'm not realistic with the pricing.

From the initial contact with the office personnel, to the service techs who came out to do the job, we were highly impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of Payless Pumping. They provided next day service, and not only were they prompt, but they were happy to answer questions and explain the details of our tanks, as it was all new info for us. Great value, and top-notch service--they can't be beat!

They performed a quick clean out of the affected area, replaced the cover with a new heavier fiberglass cover instead of the old plastic cover and backfilled the hole and replaced the sod. Excellent work quality displayed by both service techs along with a welcome amount of professionalism, job knowledge (how to help prevent future breaks along with service recommendations and maintenance intervals as we were new to septic).
Hospitality along with the above mentioned traits go a long way in building customer loyalty. We will be called Payless for our future service needs.
