JOHNNIE LEE JAMES NURSERY

I had a beautiful palm tree damaged (snapped in half) by a renegade fellow in a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis. I thought I would have to go to all of the big nurseries west of town to find reasonable replacement, but decided to try Johnny Lee James's since they are close. This nursery is on Pembroke road east of I-95, so I expected a small patch of immature palms and small plants. I was a bit surprised when I arrived. I was greeted by Belinda, knowledgeable and charming young lady, who took time to show me many trees and options. It is small, but they have a good variety and its been a family business for decades. I selected a beautiful tree and was astonished at the price. I've purchased a lot of palm trees before and know a good deal when I see one. She offered same-day delivery to my home where I told her I would have the old stump removed and hole prepared to her specifications by 2pm. David arrived on time and upon inspecting the hole I dug, shook his head in disapproval! He then proceeded to dig. -Not part of our deal! Well, some artists use paints, or clay, but this man uses a shovel. If a hole can be a masterpiece, in 10 minutes he had one. Instead of stopping there, he helped me drop the tree in and supervised the set-up. Bottom line: Good prices and excellent service. It doesn't get better than that.
