The work went well but I have mixed feelings about the transaction. Tony, who I believe to be the owner of arctic air conditioning was very pleasant to deal with. I had two bids before and I had gone online to find if I could buy directly the air conditioner I wanted. It is called a mini split 12,000 BTU Goodman air conditioner and I found it online for $1065. When Tony came I showed him a print out of the price and told him I had selected that unit as it was an exact replacement for the one I had in there, which had served me well for 16 years. He told me he was a Goodman dealer and would try to get me an even better price, and that he would call me. He called me later that day and said he had good news, that he was able to buy the units for $935. I was very pleased with that and asked him what the total price would be, and he told me $1785 with a five-year warranty. I reacted that the labor cost than would be $850 to remove and replace one unit with another with no new tubing or piping or anything else. He was firm on that price and I reluctantly agreed to the transaction, which was slightly lower than the other two bids, thinking it might take more time or labor than I thought. He sent two workman and did not come himself, but they did a good job and it took them exactly 3 ½ hours. Tony came later to collect and I told him that amounted to $242 per hour for his two workman – as there were no parts etc. needed. He then said they did not charge by the hour but by the job. I gave him a check and asked for a copy of the written warranty, and he told me I did not need one as he would write there was a five-year warranty on the invoice. That made me nervous as an attorney, because it may indicate he was not a factory dealer, as he had claimed, but the unit had already been installed and it put me in a position where I could do nothing but accept his terms – as the alternative would be to have them tear it back out. He was referred to me by a good friend who claims he can vouch for his honesty, but I would feel more secure with a copy of a factory written warranty.

I called Arctic Air in the middle of the afternoon and three hours later I was on my way to having my a c working again. WOW! These guys are very professional, honest, hardworking and straightforward. They left a very good impression on me and I definitely would recommend others to call them and use them. I am glad I went with my guts on this one after canceling another company from a newspaper ad. That company kept telling me they were on their way. I called Arctic Air after finding them here on Angie's List and they were prompt, reliable and effective!!!! Thank you, Oscar!

VERY GOOD!! Luis Bueso was awesome. He was at my house in half an hour after I called and fixed my A/C in half an hour after he arrived. I couldn't be more happy with the experience and will definitely call them the next time I have A/C issues.

Luis come within 24 hrs. He understands that nobody cannot be without ac in this florida weather. Always polite and professional. My tenants love him.
