WEB.COM charged me for the full year which is completely understandable. When I started using the service to build the site I realized that there was no tool to add shopping carts to my new site. Once I called tech support, they went on to tell me that there was a mix up and I don't actually get that service with the package that I paid for. This was baffling to me because the package was called, Website, Marketing and store. The description of the package was as follows, " For businesses that will sell products or take payments on their website. Everything in website builder & online marketing plus. Perfect for selling products, taking payments or accepting donations. Accept credit cards with secure SHOPPING CART. Powerful analytic s and reporting tools to help you manage your business". Now I'm no English scholar but I'm sure that shopping carts were meant to be part of that package. The tech support lady then went on to tell me that if I did want that service, she would do me a deal for a bargain price of $17.99 a month which comes up to $215.88 a year on top of the $47.00 I already paid for the package. To make a long story short, I think it's pretty obvious what the problem is with this company. THEY ARE NOT HONEST ABOUT THEIR PRICES. So if you want to do business with honest people, I would not recommend using WEB.COM.

They removed my site after I had 200,000 people in circulation for a news article about my new film. I feel that this company does not know how to host a website, so I dropped them and found another host. They present themselves as being the best you can get, when in fact they are the worst. If you hear this name, run away fast. They also have two other companies, register.com and network solutions, and they are all the same company.

I received a phone call from our Online Marketing Account manager notifying me the website was ready for me to inspect. What I received was a poorly designed website that was thrown together by an inexperienced web designer . Our ad was launched on March 10 2014.The 2 calls we did receive were calls from customers looking to repair broken windows. We are a replacement window company and I told both sales people I was not interested in receiving any calls from customers that wanted to repair their windows. We received 44 clicks on the new web pages and the two phone calls we received were people looking to repair broken windows in the first week. We cancelled our advertising agreement because this service is a complete waste of time and money. Avoid this company at all costs. The Better Business Bureau has closed 577 complaints over 3 years on this company.
As-of March 22, 2014 the web page built by Web.com received 83 page visits and our business received 5 phone calls. Only one call was a serious customer looking to buy a door. Our request for a refund from the company was declined on March 17. The company stated they needed 90 to 120 days before I would see any results. We have signed up with a different company that offers internet advertising and will report on them later this year.
We filed an online complaint on the Rip-Off Report website in early April. On April 7th we were contacted by Molly from the executive office of Web.com about getting us a full refund and on April 11, 2014 Web.com gave us 100% of our money back. We are very grateful and lucky we received all of our money back from this company.
Business owners stay away from Web.com and other companies offering SEO & Search Engine Marketing with Google adwords it is a waste of money.
Web.com refunded all money paid after we filed an online complaint on w website called Rip-off report. After reading our complaint we were contacted by Molly from the executive offices of Web.com. All money was we paid was refunded 100%.

This review pertains only to Web.com's facebook team, with which I had an aweful experience.
The company charges $189 a month for their service, for which they will produce a facebook page, post three status updates per week, and spend $95 in facebook ads on your company. There's unlimited updates for the first month and I think an hour or so worth a month thereafter. I was convinced to try the deal because they comped three years of a new URL with the deal ( i should mention the URL side of the business worked fine).
I spent an hour on the phone with a consultant, explaining my business, which is a high-end health and fitness consultancy. I told them to wait a couple of days and I would send their team pictures for my page and a link to my updated website (which i was still updating at the time). The facebook team did not wait for this input from me but rather constructed the page with generic fitness information and images as well as several pieces of dry info I gave them. the page also contained several pieces of information I specifically told them not to include. Some of the images they produced didn't even make sense, such as a picture of six individuals performing crunches on swiss balls with text saying "Fitness strategies tailored for you." They sent me the link and asked me to like the page so they could make me an administrator. Instead, I sent the team a page worth of corrections for the page.
A couple days later, I get the second version and it's still bad. Half of the specific corrections I had laid out were not made. they replaced the original generic image with another one - of some random guy doing dumbbell presses with his shirt off. I called them up, told them to make me an administrator of the page. They did, and I basically fixed everything myself. The only useful thing they did was merge two of my pictures into a rectangular single image which makes a decent cover photo for the page.
Then they attempted to make posts and ads. The posts they generated were generic. I was putting out substantive fitness tips myself as posts and they were throwing out robotic snipets of information about the business. they did this at random intervals and would not tell me when they would do it. Ultimately, I had to tell them to stop after they made two dumb posts (with ANOTHER generic image) and then wrote posts for them to put on the page when they saw fit (which frankly, ain't worth a dime b/c the stats show an equal number of fans online from 9am to 9pm)
The ads were just as bad. they used images I gave them and generic statements. When I tried to interact with them, I ran into extreme difficulty. The woman corresponding with me didn't seem to understand anything I wrote to her. If I made a suggestion and asked what they thought as social media experts, they gave me generic responses, they would not interact, they'd just say, we can do it that way if you want. Then, before I even approved the ad, they posted it, spending my money and making me look bad in the process. I had to tell them to stop and then basically tell them what to put in the ad.
Web.com also has an infuriating policy which says the clients cannot speak to the people who actually put together the ads. You have to talk to the phone agents, who then forward your info to the "creative" people.
I probably spent over four hours in one month on the phone with Web.com trying to fix the situation.
And, on top of all that, nobody at the company could tell me how they were going to place my ad to maximize exposure to my target client population.
From the beginning, I told Web.com I wanted clients, not likes, but they never got this. Web'com sets a very low bar for itself - 50 likes in the first month for example - a monkey writing posts and ads could achieve this because likes don't cost anything. And looking at the pages of individuals who liked my page from Web.com's efforts, I have to conclude they missed my target population.
In short, Web.com demonstrated zero creativity, put zero thought into my account, was incredibly slow in responding and had the most infuriating system for connecting the client to the marketing team I've ever seen. I do NOT recommend working with Web.com's facebook team.

I recently contacted my web site host provider (Network Solutions) to have them design a web site for my company.
They were delighted to help and the salesperson I spoke to did an excellent job selling me on the notion and assured me I would be able to maintain the site myself, once it was completed. Once the sales job was complete, she transferred me to their Web Design Department, where I was to speak to a designer who would see me through the process, all the way to having a new live web site!
Once I was transferred... things took a terrible turn. The person I was speaking to was very loud and very harsh. I was able to determine this was someone wearing a headset who had never been taught how to wear it and make the customer comfortable. I could also hear dozens of conversations going on in the background. I had been connected to a call center!
After a few questions and answers, it became obvious I was going through a script with this person, but I persisted. I had never done this before and I thought, "maybe this is the state of things in today's world."
Eventually it was over and I was told I would receive an email when my first draft web site was ready to be reviewed.
Sure enough, 3 - 4 days later, I got the email and I reviewed the site.
To give the new web site a "D" is being generous. I know enough about this type of thing to recognize they had simply fed the "interview" information into a boiler plate template and allowed it to regurgitate onto the screen. Web.com had not even gone to the trouble to phone it in. It was truly pathetic.
Since they demonstrated such an inability to grasp the most basic aspects of our needs, I decided the only choice we could live with was to build and manage the site ourselves. Although I don't have enough time to do it, I'll find a way... rather than allow this mess to represent us.
At sign up, I was given a toll free number to call if I decided to cancel. I called... and was given a huge run around. I continued to call and eventually was connected to someone who proved they could talk louder and faster than I could... but I didn't give up. After insisting over and over again, the rep accepted my request to terminate all ties with web.com.
***I should admit for your sake that I failed to check Angie's List before I agreed to this deal with Web.com. However, I did not call Web.com... I called Network Solutions! I have had a good relationship with Network Solutions for years and believed that was who would be doing my web site. Now, I know better. So... beware! Make sure you're talking to the right people.
I have to believe there are plenty of reputable web designers out there... just check them out thoroughly!!

I was interested in creating a website with a dot com domain. I went on their site and saw that I could create a webpage for a first time fee of $2.95 a month as an introductory price. No info on how much it would go up to before they wanted me to put in my credit card info. So I'm thinking ok, well I would definitely do this if the price after the introductory period is over if its within reason, but why can't I find this information anywhere? Ok, so there's a number on the top of the page to call for questions. So I call. I get prompted by an automated system, choose the correct option for my question and get someone on the phone. I tell her my very simple question and she says she is going to connect me to someone who can answer "all of my questions"....hmmm ok well it was just one question that was very straightforward, but ok. So I am transferred. Again I pose my question....guess what? I need to be transferred again. Now the third person I talk to I say listen, I have been transferred a couple times, hopefully you can help me I just have a really simple question....and again I this question to that should be easy for anyone to answer right? Wrong. She wants to transfer me AGAIN!!!! So this is when I hung up. Very shady. And horrible customer service right off the bat. Will not be using them!!!

When i discovered I was charged 149 dollars a month I called the number on the bank account listing.
The number was my credit card service that had allowed this second party to charge me though them
essentially getting into my bank account without my authorization. When i called Web.com service
department to ask them what they were providing they said they were providing marketing services
which were nonexistent. When i asked them to prove I had authorized the second party charges they said they could
not prove i had authored the charges. They get rid of the proof of authorization after three years. The service person basically told me that most people know when 149 dollars are coming out of their account. I canceled but was hassled about canceling and denied
reimbursement by a form letter.

They had my name set wrong, my password wrong and they even had my website entered wrong. The only thing they had right was my telephone number and credit card information. I tried calling them before I called my credit card company and they basically told me they couldn't recredit me as they didn't have my information. My credit card company is going after them for fraudulent charges. I ended up going with a different host site who have been very professional in handling my account.

They sent me something that I didn't think was the best foot forward for my company. I called them to let them know I was declining their offer. I was put on hold for approximately 30 minutes. The representative I finally spoke with said I had the wrong department and transferred me. I was on hold again for 30 mins and the second representative I spoke with said same thing. I realized I was stuck in an endless loop.
I consulted my credit card company to dispute the 2 charges of approximately $95 in 1 month. When I eventually got through to someone at web.com, they offered to submit a claim for a refund which was denied.
I had not approved of the charges to my credit card, they provided no final product, and violated their own agreement of a 30 day free trial. They put people on an endless loop so there's no documentation that I've attempted to cancel.

I would talk to someone over the phone and they would tell me that they understood what I wanted. They would explain what I wanted to another person--a designer. When I would look at the website, what appeared would be totally different than what I actually wanted.
I had sent them a picture of a custom-made fountain pen that I had made for a customer. They can post 5 different pictures on the main page, but they instead posted 5 pictures of the same pen. I had sent them about thirty photos of different objects.
I called them and explained that I wanted different objects displayed in the pictures. There was some time that was expected to wait to be able to log in and see the changes--a few hours. It actually took 4-5 days.
With them charging a monthly fee, that's just a long time... especially to not really get what I was envisioning for my site.
So, I essentially had to call them back and fire them. The person I talked to on the phone was kind enough, but there was a bit too much miscommunication about what was actually wanted.
I would like to sit down with someone, consult with them about the design I want--color scheme--tone, etc. I want something that's really going to highlight my work.
