!BEWARE! It s been 3 weeks since firing Rick and the crew. I was way under budget as I smartly only paid him 20% and did milestone payments. 1st off, he yelled at my 6-month pregnant wife during closing and scared her. We basically got bullied into giving him an additional $2500 just to get him the hell out of our house and be done with him. This is after his trumped-up calculations to close the contract that would have given him even more than that. Our numbers only had us giving him another $200 or so and we were being very generous. Also, he actually told us that we could not give him a bad review because we canceled the contract. What kind of BS logic is that? So, lets go with all the wrongs: -Incompetent -Inconsiderate -Rude -Slow -Poor Planner -Shady. When we first started speaking I had expressed my desire to get everything done as soon as possible, anywhere between 4-6 weeks. Granted, this was a decent-sized job (almost a full house remodel). In a little over two months, they NEVER finished one room completely. We did pay for one room completion which was my new office, but that is only because the only person (Person X) who knew how to handle the project was there, he ended up quitting for a better-paying job soon after the office was done (2 weeks in). Even still, missing baseboards, flooring, paint touch-ups are missing all over the place. After that, it was a s**tshow. They were in the same two bathrooms for a whole month and it looked like s**t still after 4 retries. Rick, the owner, took more vacations during the project than I have in my entire life. And when he was in town, he never bothered checking in. I had to reach out countless times for complaints, worries, and other things. Eventually, I had had enough with how slow and sloppy the progress was that I asked him to stop by twice a day until completion, it lasted maybe 2 or 3 days sadly. Our kitchen was far from done in 2 months, with only a few cabinets installed (very rushed) just before Person X left. So I said screw it, I will do it. And so I did, in LESS than a week. Then finally floors and countertops can get started, except he could not get flooring done either. He subcontracted it out, and since it was a low-paying job, it was rushed and then the subcontractor quit because of Rick. Almost all the flooring was ripped out around the 3-week mark. They had plenty of time to do the one thing they should have done before floors, which was floor preparation. Not only did I have to do it, eventually one of the contractors felt bad and stayed after work to help. Even then, it just never got done properly. The biggest culprit here is the lack of actual planning, EVER. ALL the delays were preventable on Rick s part. Permits? I would have gotten them before they started work, however, I should not have even needed to do it, that is the contractors job. But Rick and his subs are NOT licensed and registered in Santa Rosa County or Florida! I learned this through an electrician who had to come out to do some work. It took a week to get the permits in order, but for some reason they chose to not do the other million things they could have been doing to finish up the project. A lot of their busy-work ended up being texturing and painting and REDOING that countless times due to lack of skills and/or planning. Even then, they did not finish the whole house. They did texture/paint most of the main parts of the house though. Smokers. Not only do I hate the smell, but I have a 6-month pregnant wife. No one should be smoking around the house and definitely NOT inside it (garage). Never should I find cigarette butts in or around the house, but I found them all over the place. Their on-call plumber (Gonzales) was overpriced and terribly hard to get a hold of when needed. We had to hire our own plumber to handle a few things, way cheaper, better quality work, and much faster. !!- AVOID -...

"Seems like once or twice a year I get a customer that is a bit hard to please and most of the time we are able to work it out and everybody leaves happy and satisfied, but in my 35+ years of business I think I have only run across 3 or 4 customers that was this difficult and this much of a micromanager. I am a firm believer in karma, what goes around comes around so I am going to refrain from bashing this guy like he did me but the one thing I will say is he is very much a liar. No one ever yelled at his wife as he states, the truth of it is the way he talks down to his wife is degrading and mean, most of the delays on this job were caused by him changing things and adding all kinds of extra projects in the middle of what we were doing. This customer ended up so over budget because of all the additional things he added he decided to do a bunch of stuff himself and/or find his own subs the do the extra work cheaper than we would, which is where all the delays came in because we had to wait for him to finish things before we could get back in and do what we were supposed to do. It is true I brought in a subcontractor to do the laminate floor because we were trying to make up some time but the truth of it is that this subcontractor walked out in the middle of the job because he could not deal with this customer anymore but of course he did not bother to mention that. Oh and by the way I was the second contractor brought in on this job because he fired the first one, and those werent all vacation victor. My wife has been very ill for a while and I have been staying at the hospital a lot lately. To wrap this up when we parted ways you told me that you were satisfied with everything that we had done and you told me that you were not going to write a bad review, you said you would be honest and we ended this on good terms, but since I didn't agree to the ridiculous amount of money you wanted to be refunded you wrote this...once again plain and simple this is the kind of person you are. You got way more than you paid for Victor. You know it and I know it and most importantly GOD knows it. Again what goes around comes around. To everyone reading this I would like to say this has been a tough time for my company and most other smaller companies like mine with the Covid issues and trying to find qualified people to the employee and there is some truth to this customer saying it took a little bit to long on somethings then planned but if you read the other reviews you will see that this company is not like the picture this person has painted us to be."

Branik construction did an amazing job completing termite damage repair and a complete update and remodel on our home. We recently just put this house on the market and there is no doubt the amazing work they accomplished and performed for us resulted in an above market value offer on our home. We have recently just purchased another home here in Navarre and will definitely be using Branik for updates and repairs we want to see completed on our new property. His employees were always at work on time and Rick always ensured things were on schedule for our project Would definitely recommend Rick and Branik construction... Heâ s been in the business a long time and knows what heâ s doing

We hired Rick and his company to replace the tile/linoleum flooring in our house and replace it with vinyl flooring. Additionally, they removed a shower and garden tub in the master bath and replaced it with a custom walk in shower (doing all the plumbing/framing/tile and dry wall associated with it). From the start Rick was extremely professional and strait forward with all the conversations and estimates. All the estimates were clear and concise as to what would be included and what was required from each party. All of his employees were professional throughout the entire process and Rick was readily accessible throughout with any questions we had. We highly recommend Branik Construction to anyone looking for flooring or bathroom work around their house.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience working with this company. They were flexible with the project start date, which was much appreciated since the closing date on my house had been delayed by a few days. I had old tile removed and new 8x48 wood plank tile installed throughout my house, and I couldn't be happier with the end result! The floors turned out even better than I imagined. I was blown away by the workers who installed the tile. I was incredibly impressed by not only their professionalism, but their skill and work ethic as well. This is 100% the company I will be using for any and all future projects on my home.

I hired Branik to paint my cabinets and both bathroom vanities. They did a great job with a really great price. Yesterday, I had a professional painter that is doing my home interior tell me that whoever did my cabinets did a great job. When I told him the price I paid he said that was an extremely low price. He said the price I paid would have been just for my kitchen from most companies without even touching my master or guest bath. I am definitely using them in the future.

This contractor was the WORST at customer service and work quality. We hired them to install wood like tile in our house and received the suggestion on where to buy from this contractor. When they first came out to work on the job, they were not able to finish due to MANY hollow tiles. They were working on fixing the hollow tiles (approx 15 the first time), but I asked them to come back at a later time (about 1.5 months later) because the dust was too much while we were living there. When they left they did not clean up after themselves and I had hand prints on my walls from where they were touched by hands with grout on them (dark brown grout). There was also dust all over the walls, counters and really everywhere. When we moved out of the house on 15 May and they came back to finish the job on 16 May. They had to pull up approx 45 more tiles for being hollow and ended up using all of the spare tiles that we purchased for the house (this is a rental property for us and we wanted extra if ever needed in the future). On 17 May, in the afternoon, I got the call that they were finished, so I went over to check out the job. There were still hollow tiles throughout the house and areas were the grout had not been filled fully. In a small closet, they filled about a 2 inch by 1 inch area with grout where a tile should have been. The doorway of a bedroom had tiles meeting up to the caret that was not even (by close to an inch for 1 tile to the next). There was also quite a few tiles that had chips in them and some that were place much higher than others. After inspecting the work, I informed one of the workers that was still at the house and asked him to have Rick, the owner contact me. When I spoke to Rick, he was extremely rude and spoke to me as if I needed to come up with a solution. He said things like "I don't know why this is happening" and when I told him there were still hollow tiles he said "I can't keep pulling up these tiles" and "I can pull them up and SHOW you that they are solid". He told me the last statement several time and each time I responded that it would not prove anything to me if he did this, because I can take my knuckle and knock on the tile and hear that it is hollow. He did tell me a few times that he does not know why they are making that sound, because they are not hollow. Now I am not a tile person at all, so I contacted 3 other tile contractors and ALL of them told me that if it has a hollow sound when I knock on it...then it is hollow. Rick gave me several excuses as to why this is happening. He originally blamed it on the mortar that they purchased, but his worker admitted that one of the guys was not experienced and originally worked on the main area with issues unsupervised. He even accused me of not wanting to pay him by stating (during a disagreement) "so are you guys going to pay me if I do all this work?", it was so insulting! After a lot of arguing and me having to threaten him with contact
Response from Branik Construction
"To all our future customers; I do not want to bash this person as she tried to do me with these ridiculous comments, but I would just like to say; this was the most unreasonable person I have worked with in a very long time. The material she purchased was terrible and most of the tiles were warped, but there was no talking to her and as she stated we kept going back until she was satisfied and the job was completed. All I can say is some people in this world just have issues and want to take it out on whoever they can. As you can see I have been in this business for 30 plus years and if you look at all our ratings and reviews you will see we have never had a customer say these kinds of things about our company. Every now and then you find someone that just is never happy with anything and wants to let everyone know she?s the boss. Well This person is that one! If anyone considering our company for a project and would like to know the whole story please just ask me and I will explain."

We hired Branik construction because of his great reviews on Home Advisor. Before this we couldn't even get anyone to respond to requests for quotes. They did an excellent job for us installing wood-look tiles in the kitchen and a bathroom and installing granite counter-tops. They respond to questions quickly and got the job finished exactly when we needed it. We will definitely be using them again for other projects.

The first painters missed some spots. Rick sent another painter out to do the touch ups. He did the day ouch ups and some we didn't see. Turned out to be a five star job. All workers are courteous. Rick goes above and beyond for his customers.
