Accurate Inspections of NWFL, LLC
About us
If you’re like most homeowners and home buyers, you probably won’t even meet me until after you hire me. That’s why it’s important to know that there are construction companies that front as home inspectors, large franchised inspection companies and other inspection firms who send out unlicensed and inexperienced employees to do their work, and because this is a legal practice in Florida, you may be at risk for inflated prices, misinformation, and scams and the need for a re-inspection. These companies will make all kinds of promises to you such as “No save, no pay” guarantee for wind mitigation inspections which is unethical and may result in a faulty inspection. Our promise to you is that we do the job right and do not manipulate the results of the inspection for any reason and/or for anyone. Other issues you may encounter with these types of companies is that once they have completed your inspection, they will sell you their construction services which is their real money making business. This practice is also unethical for home inspectors because of the conflict of interest and is actually illegal in most states, not here in Florida.

"the member contacted me to complete a 4 Point Inspection at her home. Most inspectors charge between $100.00 to $150.00 for completing the same inspection that I charge $90.00. she never mentioned to me she had a problem with paying $90.00 until I read the review on Angie's List. member was very nice to me at time of inspection and we wished each other a nice day when I was leaving her inspection. It is not normal to send reports to customers or insurance agents until the report has been paid for, but her insurance agent called me explaining that the report was needed ASAP to keep the member's policy in tact. I sent the report to the member and her insurance agent before accepting payment. After the insurance agent/company reviewed the 4 Point Inspection, it was noticed that her water heater was too old for the insurance company's requirements. I am required to take pictures of the water heater and serial number and attach the pictures to the 4 point inspection form. Although the water heater is working, the insurance company does not want to insure a home with a water heater that is over 15 or 20 years old. This issue is out of my control as an inspector. After the report was received by the insurance company, the member called me very upset explaining that there was nothing wrong with her water heater. I tried to explain that the insurance underwriters look at the pictures of the water heater and serial number that shows the age of the unit. She was extremely upset and yelling obscenities at me telling me that she would not pay for the report. I then explained our company policy, which would be to file a judgement against her in small claims court for the money owed. the member signed a contract that states payment is due at time of inspection, but she was not able to pay at time of inspection. I never once called the member, she called me very upset. After her first call to me upset, she then called me the next morning at 5:30am leaving a very nasty voicemail. She also sent a couple of nasty text messages to my phone. I don't understand how the member can say I incessantly called her when phone records can verify what actually happened. the memebr is upset with me and my company for no good reason. Her water heater is old and her insurance company wants her to replace it, and she is mad at my company because of this."
