From my first contact with Doug, he and Maria were wonderful to work with. They were both professional and personable and very responsive with my inquiries. My plantation shutters were installed quickly and efficiently and with great care. The shutters look beautiful throughout the home and I am very happy with all aspects of working with Doug and Maria. We had such a positive experience with Blinds by Design in September that we recommended Doug and Maria to our family who built a new home just down the road from us.

Once again, from initial contact to final installation Doug and Maria really go above and beyond.  They made multiple trips to the house during construction to finalize measurements and the design.  Scheduling was right on.  They made sure orders were placed and that everything was ready by the time the house closed so a speedy installation could be done.  They were also kind enough to re-schedule the install due to a change in the closing date and accommodate us during the busy holiday schedule.

I ended up selecting Blinds By Design to provide plantation shutters for my new home after getting estimates from several suppliers I found here on Angie's List.  Their price was competitive and they presented a large variety of quality products and options that meet my requirements after talking about what I wanted for the house.  The lead time to receive the shutters was consistent with all of the top reviewed companies here on Angie's List. 
There was one issue with the kitchen window, as a result of finish-out to the house that happened between measuring the windows and the blinds coming in.  Though the issue was not the fault of Blinds by Design by any means, and they certainly had no obligation to solve the issue... they were very quick to offer solutions and helped solve the problem in a way that was the most budget friendly.
Doug and Maria take great pride in being precise and client service oriented.  I wish more contractors and suppliers ran their business with as much integrity and professional as they do.  I highly recommend them to anyone looking for blinds, shutters or shades for their home. 

Blinds by Design, (Doug & Maria), personally came to the house for the initial consultation and to measure our windows, and I received my quote at the time of their visit. I also received one competitive bid from another highly-recommended Angie's List vendor, which was slightly less, but we chose Blinds by Design because the plantation shutters were solid-poly (versus composite), and were manufactured locally in Orlando (versus China). The turnaround time from the order date to the installation was better than expected and the customer service was exceptional. We are very pleased.

Included in updating my ten year old home was  replacing  wooden blinds with plantation shutters.  I had several bids and found this one was competitive.  Also, at the consultation I was given an education about the difference in construction of the competitor shutters versus those supplied by Blinds by Design, which sealed the deal. Doug and Maria were very professional, informative and reliable. They took their time with me to answer all questions, offered advise on the best choice of options for each window, and went above and beyond by helping me choose a carpet color for my updating project.  The shutters were ready exactly when promised.  They were installed today and everything was perfectly measured and look great.  The installers were fast and professional.  Doug called shortly thereafter to make sure I was happy with shutters and the whole process.  I am happy and highly recommend this company.

Replacing builder quality blinds when we purchased our home was a priority. After getting input and quotes from several firms, we selected Blinds By Design. They had products we had not seen before that were of excellent quality and more reasonable than we had seen. We actually changed our decorating concept and were able to increase the scope of the project because of the favorable price. We strongly would recommend this company. Although it took approximately 4 weeks longer than originally estimated, the window treatments were absolutely beautiful and we're installed professionally. I would recommend Blinds by Design and would definitely use their service again.

Doug and Maria were a pleasure to deal with.  I knew nothing about plantation shutters, or all the types and options available to me.  So armed with some pictures from Houzz and Pinterest I met with Doug and Maria.  Doug was very informative - showing me examples of good and bad quality shutters, explaining the manufacturing process, and showing me actual samples or pictures that illustrated all the options available.  This helped me make an informed decision regarding the type and color shutters that I wanted for my home.  After our initial estimate, I had a number of questions before I made my final choices, and when I wanted to add some additional shutters, Doug came back out to measure those windows promptly. 

Once I signed the contract, Doug immediately gave me a date for installation and met that date.  The installation crew showed up exactly when they said they would, giving me a call prior to arrival.  They installed all the shutters within a couple hours upon arriving and gave me some tips on keeping my shutters in great shape.  Doug followed up later that day to make sure I was satisfied with the installation.

I had a great experience with everyone involved and my home looks absolutely gorgeous!  I highly recommend Blinds By Design from start to finish!

It went great.  They did a really good job and we are very pleased.  There was one window that we were not happy with and we took a picture and sent it to them.  They responded right away that they were not happy with the installation as well and sent someone back out to fix it.  I would recommend them.

Blinds by Design did a superb job with the solar shades we purchased from them. We had an extremely large dining room window that is normally difficult to install properly. Doug and Maria successfully met that change and did an exceptional job in that installation. Blinds by Design provides an exceptional product and their work is first rate. Doug and Maria are a pleasure to deal with, making the entire process totally stress free. I would definitely use them again and I encourage anyone who wants window treatments to give them a call.

Timeframe for delivery and installation went as scheduled and promised. Installers were very professional and cleaned up after completion. Shortly after, Doug and Maria came by to inspect the installation and deliver and install a blind for our dining room which arrived later that day due to a manufacture shipping error. Please note - this was not a problem to us at all and one that was quickly resolved by Doug and Maria. While they were here, I decided to order a back up set of verticals for precautionary measures because we have a 10 month old stubborn Boston Terrier. Maria e-mailed me the next business day to confirm the order and even had it shipped directly to us.
If you want courteous professionals who stay in touch until the very end, let Doug and Maria help you design your blind, shutter or vertical installation. Doug and Maria in my opinion are down to earth, very friendly professionals. Prompt, communicative and care about how you perceive the quality of their work!!!
Finally, we are very, very happy with our window treatments. And that special order shutter?? AWESOME!!!!

The whole process was easy, and everything went well.  Once Doug and I coordinated our schedules, he and Maria came out with the samples and measured the windows to be replaced.  Their meaurements and our product selection took approximately 90 minutes.  The product was ready 5-6 weeks later, and installed approximately 2 weeks after that.  There were absolutely no hitches in the whole process.  The installation took about 90 minutes, and the installed product looks and functions perfectly.  This is a small business operated by personable and knowledgeable people.  If you are looking for a U.S. manufactured, high quality, and competitively priced plantation shutter, then I would recommend Doug and Maria to you.
