I felt mr Meara did a great job..He explained things so I understood and finisished work in a timely manner.. He went a bit over the time but did not charge me..My house was also somewhat out of his area and with the price of gas, he agreed to come anyway..I did have to call hime to remind of outr appointment but he had acquired a hge workload and is a sole proprietor..

I have used Larry on three different occasions now. Each time, he was excellent! I'd recommend him to anyone!!

It went good. He was fine and did a good job. He cleaned up the mess of wires that was with the water heater. He got the job done in about an three and a half hours. The electrician explained what he was going to do and did the job fairly quickly. Everything was to our satisfaction.

After waiting about 20 minutes, I called to find out how late he would be and was surprised to hear that he forgot the appointment. However, he did leave immediately for our house and started work about 45 minutes after our scheduled time. Two men came to do the work (one of which was Larry himself). Larry did the first half of the job and then the assistant finished up. The job took about 1 hour and 20 minutes total. The deal cost of $99 seemed reasonable but Larry said future jobs would cost $65 hr for EACH man even though it appears that one man could do the job himself. I would suggest clarifying this when scheduling a job. Larry was knowledgeable, honest and personable. Would possibly use them again if I have a two-man job that needs to be done.

It went very well. The owner, Mr. Mears came with his son and together they were in and out of my house in a short period of time. I found them to be honest and professional.

I purchased a deal on Angie's List from Mears Electric for 2 hours of electrical labor for $99.00. I couldn't be more pleased! Mr. Mears was courteous and professional from start to finish. I needed to have a ceiling fan re-hung that had worked it's way loose and was barely hanging from the ceiling. I also had a number of dead electrical outlets that needed to be replaced. All of this was done skillfully and efficiently. He checked out the breaker box and made sure all of the breakers were in good working order. He also diagnosed a problem in my dining room wall with an electrical line. No mess was left behind, each area was left neat and clean. He took the time to explain everything in terms a homeowner can understand. I have additional electrical work that needs to be done and I will definitely have Mears Electric come back to do that work as well.
One other thing that impressed me was this- I originally called Mears Electric a couple of weeks ago to set up my appointment. It was the end of the week and they had a full schedule and I was politely asked to give a call back at the first of the next week and they would set up an appointment that was convenient for me. I got distracted with other projects and didn't get around to calling back. When Mears Electric didn't hear back from me, they called me to follow up to make sure my appointment was made and my project handled promptly! I thought that was pretty awesome. So- great customer service, great work, great value. I'm a happy customer.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were very professional. For $99, they brought 2 people. It was okay. They did schedule us first the day before and they had a conflict with a job. They rescheduled after they were supposed to be there.

I could say in one word GREAT. After putting together and installing it, it turned out one was broke. HE had to take it down and apart so I could return it. I called after getting the new fan he came back and it works as it should. He even installed it for free on his second visit.
I challenge you to find a business man in Florida who would do any close to that. I would not only recamend him I will use him as my electrician for ever.

He was a nice guy. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and did a great job. He cleaned up after himself. He was very informative and would answer any questions you had. He showed up on time and came the same day that I called him. He was at our home extra time over the coupon time and he did not charge any extra as he talked to me during the work. I would use him again.

The job took the whole two hours. He was very good and polite. He had to cancel a few times due to a previous job. The third time he did the job.

I bought the 99.00 Electrical package and then I had another project for him that went beyond the 2 hours, hence the extra $100.00.
Well worth it and as far as I'm concerned, he is my electrician now

I purchased two hours of electric services as a big deal. I spoke with Larry and told him exactly what I wanted done. Larry came and spent an hour talking to me burt did not perform any services. He told me what parts I needed to buy and told me he would come back at his hourly rate to do the installation. I complained to the big deal people and he agreed to come back for an hour of service.
He made an appointment to return but did not show up. I called him and he said he forgot and would come the next day at 11:00. He did not show up the next day. I called him and he agreed to come that afternoon which he did.
I had purchased the parts he told me - he then told me it was impossible to install the remote control device even though it had been previously installed in the ceiling. He did replace the transformer for my doorbell but I told him I wanted to use the original door chime -- he replaced my vintage door chime with a contractor's grade commercial door chime and did not tell me.
He did not clean up after himself. He left insulation all over the floor and small electrical parts on the floor.
Subsequently, I have had another electrician install the remote device . It took him 20 minutes. The second electrician told me exactly where to go and what to buy for my vintage doorbell chime.
This was a terrible experience, a waste of money and not what I expect from an Angie's list vendor. I am angry at the waste of money and time this contractor has caused me.

Electrician was suppose to be here at 11am and he never showed up. Come 11:40 I gave him a call and he was out to lunch and had completely forgot the appointment. He then said he would get everything together and head over afterwards. Once he showed up he seemed completely confused on what he was to be doing even though we had already discussed what was to be done earlier that week. I needed 3 fans replaced in my home. He then said that it would be an additional $25 charge just for him to rent a ladder. I was never made aware of this. I also needed a chandelier replaced and he was going to have to come back for that project. He then said I would have to pay him hourly for that project. I had paid for 2 hours of service for the deal and with all the additional charges he has given me I don't feel it pertained to the deal I purchased. I am no longer going to use him for this project and am looking into another service provider to assist me with it.

When I called Larry on the telephone and told him what we needed he told me that it would take probably an hour for each new outlet but because we were dealing with outside walls it might take longer. There was a bit of mis-communication as to the time of arrival. I thought he would be here at 12 but when I called him at 12:25 he said that he would be here "after 12". He arrived at 1:30 and told me that he was charging me 1/2 hour travel time from my angie's list coupon since I'm in Jupiter and he was in Lake Worth (that was not mentioned in the fine print!). He arrive with an assistant (which we did not expect) and they did the work very professionally, however the assistant spent quite a bit of time going back and forth the their truck and, in my opinion, did not work the full amount of time they were here. The issue of the "outside" wall only came into play on one wall and that was resolved fairly quickly. The other outlets went in fairly easily (as he mentioned to me.....hallalujah). A lot of time was spent repairing holes that were made because of problems with studs and they had to be plastered. Plus he was talking to my husband while he was plastering while we are paying by the hour. If we had know that we were paying by the hour for the plastering, my husband could/would have done it and our cost would have been much less. That took almost 1 hour to do. The worker was sitting in the truck and my husband was helping him to get the plastering done.
My major complaint is that we were not told, in advance, that there would be 2 people we would be paying for and that we were told the job would be 3-4 hours (more or less) but not 8 1/2 hours.....in addition to giving up 1/2 hour for travel time.
I read great things about Larry and was really looking forward to recommending him to our neighbors in our new community. He is a very nice person but I'm not happy with the outcome of the cost of this job.
