We called Ken Hope AC for a second opinion after my elderly mother had an AC company come out last night and tell her that her AC unit needed to be replaced (2018 model) or have a $1,000 repair to keep it limping along. Ken's tech came out this morning and looked at her unit and found that it did not need to be replaced or need the costly repair that was quoted. Thank you so much for your honesty, timeliness, professionalism and going above and beyond for my mother. So glad that we found our family's AC contractor.

Ken Hope air conditioning was able to quickly identify the problem and correct the problem by replacing the relay switch in the air handler. Highly recommended.

They were very honest. There was one other air conditioning company that came over and they said they were going to repair for $3000, they were way out of line. Then for some reason, we got this Ken Hope, I don't know how I got him, but I got Ken Hope. They guy came and he said like $160. It was just a small thing wrong with it. It was like a capacitor that had gone bad and he replaced it and that was that. We call him once a year for maintenance. They are a very good company. I think they had a special price, it wasn't very expensive.

The replacement went fine. The problem is that when I moved from my old 12-Seer unito to my new mutli-stage 18-Seer unit my electricity prices doubled and the house would get over 80 degrees in the summer heat (it hadn't under the previous AC). I called them down again and again and again but nothing was ever found and they basically threw up their hands. Two summers later and I'm trying to sell the house. I'm desperate and call several other AC companies. One finally says they found the issue. It's a part that needs replacing and the labor is $500. I call Ken Hope. I remind them that this AC didn't work correctly from day 1 in the hope that they will cut me some sort of break on the labor costs (since this is fundamentally their fault for failing to find it back when labor was covered). Nope!. I'm out thousands of dollars in electricity, and now need to spend more money to finally have fixed what they could not find on their own unit. Despite any good experiences I had with them before this (and I did), I cannot recommend them. The do not stand behind what they do.

In Florida, you do use air conditioning in January. The actual installation took like 3 days. In Florida, you have to get an engineer certified design for a stand, so if a hurricane comes through, it can blow away your house, but by golly that air conditioner will still be there. Well, I don’t know that the air conditioner will be there, but the stand will be there. So, there is pre-work, but in terms of actual installation, it was probably 3 days. They took away the old systems and cleaned up the area. There was at various times, 4 people there.

I had a defective Trane system that he was able to make right, and with a TriAd warranty was able to keep running for 10 years...I had the second one installed and the warranty has since run out in 2012, and it is still running, with a little freon help here and there, He has replaced 2 capacitors during the warranty period on this one, and with a maintenance agreement, is here twice a year to service, and has since we have had him on our property no complaints.

They're good, very responsive and come on time. Their reasonable. I'm pretty set on these folks. I had no problems with them whatsoever. They called me today and tried to set something up for the 1st of May. I asked if they could come Monday and they said yes. They come when they say they will come. They're supposed to be coming between 8-12pm on Monday. They were very professional.

Ken came out to inspect system and provide estimate (we collected 3 estimates). My wife was at home when he arrived. Ken took the time to thoroughly explain every aspect of the system and where issues may have arisen. He determined unit was low on refrigerant and might have a leak. He filled up the system ($225) and said if it did not hold, he would credit us the money paid for the refrigerant if we wanted him to install. It did not hold. We chose Ken to install our system not due to his estimate (15 SEER system) but due to his customer-oriented service. My wife was so pleased with him. Ken sent someone over within hours to charge the system again until he could obtain the system. Brad (worked outside - condenser) and Robert (worked inside - air handler) arrived in the morning 1 week later to install the system. They completed the install early afternoon. Some shoddy construction work by builder left unfinished drywall work where the handler was. Robert filled in the cracks and had to put wood down as a base for the handler (thank you). All in all, great care with the wife, very professional, efficient work ethic, and cleaned up job site. Outstanding.

Mr. Hope came out to our home and gave us an estimate to replace the larger of our two units. After double checking the problem he added some gas to get us by until they could get us on the schedule. They were able to schedule us within a few days and even agreed to install our system on a Saturday so I didn't have to take any additional days off work. The techs did a great job and we were very pleased with the new unit.

The technician arrived on time as promised and proceeded to troubleshoot the problem. Very quickly he discovered the problem and brought me the defective part, measured it and explained why it was not working properly. He had a replacement part in his truck and replaced it very quickly. The old part was under warranty. The A/C is now working fine.
I am very happy to have found an honest company with honest employees and I will call them again if I ever have another A/C problem.

We have a two story home that is fifteen years old and has two separate A/C units.  To my shock I went upstairs one day to find it 105 degrees! The A/C unit on the upper level of our home had quit working.  It was blowing hot air.  We just purchased the home about a year ago and were warned by the home inspector that the units were reaching the end of their life so we were expecting the worst.  We were fully expecting to have to purchase a whole new A/C unit and were pleasantly surprised that it could be easily repaired. The technician fixed the problem quickly and easily and didn't attempt to sell us anything we didn't need.  We spoke to him about the age of the unit and he stated that it was fine and that we should just take it one day at a time and that it didn't need to be urgently replaced.  I appreciated his professionalism and the fact that he was honest.
The company followed up with a thank you by mail and we will definitely use them again in the future.

I called to have a mini split installed.  The tech came out.  While he was here, he spoke with the owner who told  him my HOA would not allow a mini split (from past experience).  However, there are many HOAs in our development, and I told the tech that our specific HOA already said it was okay, that they just needed the unit  specifications along with my request.  The tech relayed this to the owner.  He told me more about the mini split and when he left he said the owner would get back to me.

I never heard from the owner.  Meanwhile, another contractor did have the courtesy to provide me with a proposal, and less than 4 weeks later, I had the HOA approval and it was installed, and we love our mini split.

It's unprofessional to treat a prospective client by dismissing them.  Furthermore it's not smart business to turn down business.

I would not recommend this business to anyone.  There is a lot of competition, look elsewhere.

Response from KEN HOPE AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING INC

"We have given proposals to numerous customers in Kings Point for Mitsubishi units as a second air conditioning system. Each and every time we have been told that the HOA would only allow 1 air conditioning system per home. The last time was just a few months ago. Based on these experiences when our technician called to say that he was bidding a system in Kings Point we made him aware of our previous experience. We considered the matter concluded at that time since a follow up was not requested. Based on your complaint we will be checking back in with our customers who have been turned down by their HOA and making them aware of the situation. We have never done any business with you in the past and I would suggest that you read the reviews from our customers who have actually done business with us. We are a family owned and operated business and have always tried to deal honestly with our customers. That is the reason you were given the answer that you were given."

Ken and his employees (Rafael, Brad & Robert) did an excellent job!  They installed the heat pump, air handler and part of the ductwork the first day and had the system running by early evening.  They returned the next day to complete the ductwork and put on the finishing touches.  Ken did a great job of quoting the system and resizing our ductwork.  Our old system had developed a leak and several times Ken inquired as to our comfort level and offered to add Freon to the system to keep it going until they could install the new one.  We were impressed with Ken and all his employees!  We will use them in the future and highly recommend them!
