Both times we made appointments for tire repair and were quickly seen. Balancing was checked and tire sensors were also repaired. Courteous and professional. No charge due to the road hazard warranty.

Didn't have to wait too long beyond appointment time, had tires in stock as promised, installed w/good balance incl hidden stick-on weights without my asking, provided before & after alignment reports. Dinged just bit on Professionalism for following lapses: 1. Invoice before they began included TPMS rebuilds (I have none) and optional Tire Protection plan, which we had not discussed & which I did not want. Quickly fixed. 2. They announced that car was ready and gave me my keys but I questioned if they had checked alignment; they had not; took keys back. 3. They reviewed alignment report with me, in detail, but neglected to discuss one setting that was out which would require an extra-cost kit to fix. I called them later to discuss, and will be bringing it back in. 4. I asked for warranty type paperwork but they had nothing to give me. Later, I registered the tires online (easy) which now entitles me to a 1 yr free road hazard protection plan, and a 3 year free tire change plan. This simply requires online (or mail) registration. It's also critical that you record your tire rotation every 6-8,000 miles on a simple log they provide (to print) to make a claim against the treadware warranty, which is 90,000 miles for these tires! None of this was mentioned by Town Tire, which seems a serious oversight.

Had sort of an emergency situation with a fleet type vehicle for our small business, as it was leaking fluid.  We contacted Town Tire as we've taken personal and business vehicles there for years. They graciously said to bring it in and they'd have a look.  When the gentleman called with an assessment, he indicated that it would be over $300 to repair, but they couldn't get the part for a day or so and wouldn't be able to finish the repair for a couple days as a result.  We inquired as to how much the part was and he responded by saying that "what we were mostly paying for was the labor" and he couldn't say what the part cost.  In the meanwhile, we contacted a local auto parts store and were told they had the part needed in stock and it was approximately $14.00.  We called Town Tire back and gave a credit card to pay for the assessment fee (approximately $24.00) and arranged to tow the vehicle to another mechanic the following morning.  The subsequent mechanic contacted me shortly after dropping the vehicle there to say that the part didn't appear to be the correct one and that he could replace it with what was needed.  The repair was then completed very quickly and when the other mechanic called back to say it was ready, he indicated the charge for the repair (to include any additional part) was $65.00.  That is a huge disparity!  We were sorely disappointed in Town Tire and we will never take any business or personal vehicle to either of their locations in the future and would certainly not recommend them.

Response from Town Tire Auto Service Center
"Truly sorry to hear about your visit and resulting issue with your 2004 Chevrolet Van w/ 173745 miles. I have discussed this with the location you visited and determined that it appears that maybe the repair that you had done may not be the exact repair we quoted/discussed with you. The reason that I state this is that the part that was required for your vehicle (heater flow control valve) was not available at the dealers nor aftermarket locations in Gainesville (reason we were not able to complete the repair that day). This being said, it is difficult for us to determine exactly what was done to repair your vehicle, but almost sure that the part we recommended was not the same used with your repair. We take pride in making the correct recommendations to our customers as we have been for 56 years, we do make mistakes and when we do and are made aware of them we will do everything in our power to correct them. Thank you, Ernie Turbyfill Jr. - Owner"

I've been using them since I was a teenager. My dad went there, my dad's siblings went there, I have always gone there. I don't even go to a dealer to get a new vehicle. I go to Town Tire because you can trust them. They are super people. They have been in business a long long time. The atmosphere when you go in stands out. If you are waiting they offer you a bottle of water or coffee. I've even had a manager say to me, look, if you have some things to do you can have my vehicle. He knows me, I don't know if he would do that for anybody, but they just go above and beyond. They don't come out and say oh you need this or you need that when you really don't need it at all. I've had it happen many times, I've sent many many friends there. Their price is right in there with everybody else but for me it is not as high. I feel confident in anything they sell me. When you go there, they are waiting for you. When me and my husband go, we take one car and drop it off and then go and do a few things and then go and switch keys out. They always have it ready. If it is something big, they will lock your vehicle up so you don't have to worry about anything and they will let you know when it is done. If they find something more they won't just do it, they will call you and say, hey we came across this what do you want to do? Instead of saying this is what we found and then just charge you. They will also tell you about things that might be coming up, like if something is coming up in the next 3 months you might want to start thinking about it. I would not go anywhere else. I would recommend them to anyone and feel comfortable doing it.

Gave us an estimate on a car we were considering buying. They overdid the estimate and told us things that weren't wrong. They also said they would do things like check the wipers and did not do that.

I had no idea what caused the tire to lose air and assumed it was a defective tire. They didn't charge me anything and saved me some work in putting the tires back the way they were. They taught me to continue to pay close attention to tire inflation levels.

They were very busy and even though I had made an appointment, I was taken in turn I guess. That disappointed me that it took so long just to get to my car, at least an hour. But I am very happy with the tires which they had in stock so overall I was pleased with the service. I didn't research by price, I wanted those tires.

Within a matter of weeks, after the oil change from this service center the check oil light went on occasionally, usually in a tight turn. I was distracted from checking this, until my wife was intent on getting to a doctor's appointment on time. I raced the engine to get into a heavy traffic situation. That was all it took to blow the engine, and require a complete engine replacement. I have had this car for 4 years, and it never used oil this quickly before. Of course I cannot say that anything was done wrong, but I feel it was a dysfunctional oil change, and that I had to replace the engine, because of the problem developing quicker then I might have expected after a complete oil change.

I brought my vehicle in for a simple front end alignment. This service normally costs around $80. They called me later in the day to tell me I needed $700 worth of work done, and they could not do the alignment. Town Tire stated that my tie rods were frozen or locked up. Basically, they could not loosen the nuts on the tie rod. The tie rod needs to be adjusted to perform the alignment. They told me I needed to have both of the tie rods assemblies replaced. I was a little skeptical as to why they could not break the nuts free. There are four jam nuts and they stated all were frozen. Since my vehicle has no rust, I found this hard to believe. Well, I'm glad I listened to my gut. I took my vehicle home and was able to loosen all four jam nuts and both tie rods. I just used simple household tools (two crescent adjustable wrenches). It became evident to me that either they were trying to blatantly rip me off or they put no effort into loosening the tie rod. I decided to bring my vehicle to the other location to get the alignment done. They performed the alignment with no problems. Customers shouldn't have to double check a company's work. We are paying them for their expertise. I almost paid $700 for parts and work that did not need to be performed. Another thing that was upsetting is that the Archer Rd location stated that the tie rods were adjusted way out suggesting that someone didn't perform my last alignment correctly. This could have contributed to my premature tire wear on my brand new tires. Well, Town Tire on 6th street is the company that did the last alignment. I brought this up to the manager and he stated that it has been a year. Therefore, I needed to pay for another alignment. I don't care if it has been a year. If your company screws up and causes premature wear to my tires, your company needs to rectify the issue. Nobody else adjusted the tie rods, so one of your technicians improperly adjusted them to far out. They need to take accountability for their work. They could have at least charged me less to do the second alignment properly. I contacted the owner of Town Tire, and he seems to genuinely care about the issue. The manager of Archer Rd called me once to talk about the issue. I did not return his call because I felt like he was forced by the owner to call me. He should have called me on his own account. He was made aware of the issue prior to me notifying the owner.
