They were extremely thorough and honest when diagnosing the problem and gave me a fair estimate up front. Since head gasket replacement is extremely involved, they were sure to remedy other situations that may cause problems in the near future, such as my water pump and timing belt. When I picked up my car, they went over all of the work they did and even showed me the parts they replaced. I am extremely impressed and would recommend them to anyone with a Volvo. Since they are pretty much the only guys in town that handle Volvos exclusively, they do take some time to get to your vehicle, and they are up front about the amount of time it will take. They are busy because they are worth it!

good and I feel honest shop, but since there is no other dealer in town, they are overwhelmed. Usually have to wait about a week to get in. And usually never get your car back the same day, always has a stay overnight. do a good job, but punctuality and quick service is not their strongest point.

Richard and Richard Jr. go above and beyond to provide for their customers the best possible repair for the best possible price. They are hard working, honest and reliable mechanics. Highly recommended.

Richard's is scrupulously honest, with highly reasonable prices. Those two things alone should soothe the biggest worries that most people have when getting their car fixed. They specialize in Volvos with a tremendous amount of expertise across all models. If you're looking for a dealer-like experience, you won't find it here (it's a bit more chaotic than that) but you'll come out with a well-repaired car at a fair price. I have had them do a bit of extra repair on occasion, at no charge, and check things without charging me. They are something of a local legend among Gainesvill Volvo owners, and you can't do much better than that.

I called and they worked me in (less than 15 minutes). They showed me all that was needed and I'm scheduled for a complete service next week.

It is a family owned and operated business. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they are cheaper than the dealer. Very honest, they do great work!

My wife and I both use them. He works only on Volvos. He is really good. He was recommended by another mechanic. He is very customer-oriented. It is a family business and two of his sons work with him. He does not do work for a quick buck. He has been in business for a long time. He will pass the business down to his sons. There is nothing special about the store when you look at it from outside. It is nothing fancy. However, if you need parts, he will get you the parts. He will tackle all the problems with your car. He is moderately priced. He is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. When you make an appointment, he will be ready for you. I only use him. I will use his services in the future.

We usually use them for fixing our Volvo, they only work on Volvo's. They are the reason to own a Volvo in Gainesville. They are super professional, nice and reasonable. I give them an A++.

He is exceptional. He keeps scrap Volvos, allowing him to provide used parts (that aren't essential to safety, of course) if the customer wants at greatly reduced prices or for free. He has often done work for no charge. He checked out a used Volvo before we bought it, called the salesman, and got us $1500 off the price, the cost of repair needed. He is always cooperative and fair. He and his sons treat women with respect and as if they have brains, as my wife attests. Other women have made similar reports on the way they've been treated. They do the repairs as promised, on time, and work with us when our schedules can be difficult. He is unique in our years of car repair. It's no surprise that he has many devoted fans.
