We knew we were going to want a wind mitigation inspection to get a discount on our insurance after we bought the house, but weren't ready to pay that inspection fee. The Pillar to Post employees who came out actually took all the notes and pictures they'd need to write that report for us in the future, and told us we could just get in touch and order the report later when we were ready for it, and pay the $75 fee then. That is a big convenience for us! They also were perfectly OK with coming back on Monday (our inspection was a Friday afternoon) to get a water sample for the quality test, since the lab doesn't take samples on Fridays, and did not charge extra to us for the second trip.
The only things that I found less-than-stellar about the experience both pertained to the process of selecting which inspection types we wanted. We expected to get an email from Pillar to Post right after our realtor booked with them, but it took them four days to send the email with the link to select services (after our realtor followed up multiple times) so we didn't know what we were going to get or how much it would cost until the morning of the inspection. This may have always been the intended timeline and the confusion over how long we'd be waiting may have been a miscommunication involving our realtor. Also, I am 95% sure that when I got the list of "additional services" the wind mitigation inspection was listed as $85 or $95 (so I didn't select it, since I knew another place that would do it for $75 later), but then in person the Pillar to Post folks said it would cost only $75. I don't like the idea that I would have paid a premium for selecting it ahead of time!
All in all, I would never hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to a friend. Those minor issues I mentioned were REALLY minor and I feel very confident in their depth of inspection and pleased with the level and efficiency of service they provided.
