Newman's came out to inspect our a/c about a week ago. The technician couldn't find a definitive reason but did see that the start kit was no longer working. I told him to replace it at his recommendation. I received the invoice showing the charge just for the part is $299.44. When I search online I am seeing them from almost every seller for under $50. Even if there is some type of labor built in to the price it was literally a 5 minute install. There is already a separate fee for the diagnostic service. The overall rating is one star because this company can no longer be trusted

Unit failed couple weeks before we returned home from a vacation. Friend/neighbor who had been checking on house for us noticed AC wasn't cooling properly. With my approval he arranged for Newman's to come check out the unit. Found outside fan motor was defective. After getting my approval the part was received within couple days & then installed. Everything seems fine now. Very nice to come home to cool home instead of having to deal with this upon return. My friend has used Newman's before & recommended to me; this was my first time using them. Price for the part is high but have run into this previously for same part; apparently this fan motor is very pricey for my Trane unit (which I'm otherwise very happy with).

Newman's was not only on time but called to see if he could come early. He was very professional and cleared the clog and explained our A/C unit. We would highly recommend!!

We moved into our house Christmas 2010. The A/C and the furnace did not work and we were using a portable A/C unit as well as several window bangers to cool the house. We wanted a high efficiency unit and shopped around for many months while we "learned" what we really wanted. We probably contacted 6 or 7 AC contractors, and out of all of them, Newman's stood out as the probable candidate. It wasn't because of price, but because of how Ed treated us. We did our research ahead of time and knew what type of a system would best fit our house. Newman's was the only contractor who explained things in a logical manner. He was not pushy and even said he would not call back and try to hard sell us. He let us make our own decisions. After several months, we decided on a high efficiency heat pump, hired Newman's Air and we could not be happier. Newman's took care of all the permitting issues and when the inspector came by for the final, he was impressed at how professional the workmanship was. Our utility bills have been cut in half and have remained that way through the summer. Now that winter is approaching, it is awesome to have the house at a consistent and comfortable temperature without wasting energy.

We had 3 companies give estimates on replacing our central air unit. All 3 were very professional but 1 stood out above the others.Jacob from Newman's gave us a quote $1000.00 below the estimate on one and $1600.00 below the other. He showed us on his ipad at Consumers Report that the unit the other 2 quoted needed many more repairs on the average than the Bryant he wanted to install, the other unit was not a brand name. The Bryant was installed and so far is working very well.
Everyone we met from Newman's was very helpful and professional. They did what they said they would do and were a pleasure to work with.

The technician arrived on time and completed the job in less than 60 minutes.
He was polite and took time to answer my questions.

One thing that I would suggest is that you improve access to the A/C unit before the technician arrives. The technician needs access to the condenser unit, evaporator/blower unit and thermostat.

Condenser unit is in my side yard
I unlocked the gate, setup the water hose and trimmed vegetation around the unit.

Evaporator/blower unit is in my garage
moved boxes, bicycles etc so that the tech would have full access to the unit.

Thermostat is located in my living room.
If you have a programmable thermostat make sure you know how to override the programmed settings.

My daughter used them and they were great for her so I then decide to use their services. They provide excellent service.

Generally very good. They were able to come up with system that qualified for the tax credits where 2 others did not. The system was installed timely and works very well (so far). There were a couple of wrinkles passing the city inspection. Would rate overall a high B+
