"Customer requested her exterior siding and back patio cleaned as she was on a budget of $300 and just fired her current pressure washing company. Our proposal and email correspondences layout in writing exactly what is being cleaned and the cost along with the statement if anything additional is added beyond listed above is an charge(s) above and beyond original price quoted. Upon our arrival on 12/29/2015 to clean those items, customer stated she assumed “patio” meant all her brick pavers which were her rear walkways, side walkway, driveway apron and front walk up to front porch. Our technician Wes explained that his project sheet was for the scope of work to do her exterior walls of her home and back patio only and was told to call me (owner). I spoke with customer and informed her that a “patio” is where she has her patio table and chairs and does not include the other areas/items. She told me she needs all the algae off for her kid to avoid him getting sick, so I told her we would be willing to add onto the work order and I would only charge her a modest charge for each additional item (~$25-$35). Customer also asked for us to clean her son’s playset which I told her the same increase of ~$25. Upon completion Wes went to front door and handed customer business cards and asked if she would like to review work and customer told him everything looked good. Upon customer receiving our invoice of $435 via email, she immediately proceeded to claim damage to her concrete afterwards, although she had initially stated to Wes (our technician) before he started project that she had attempted the cleaning damaging the front area walkway and driveway areas herself. She told me via a phone call she received repair costs of $350 and only wanted to pay us $250 for the original requested exterior house and patio cleaning. I rejected the allegation of accepting responsibility for any such damages we didn’t cause and the perception of someone trying to swindle their way out of not paying for additional services requested was very unpleasing. Customer has been made aware that the total of $435 for services rendered is the amount to be paid in full to complete/close this service. ** we have also provided Angie’s List with the email correspondences that should be considered part of this response."
Shane was pretty responsive to my call. He explained in detail the benefits to safely cleaning the roof and the importance of removing that black algae. (15 year old roof)
Workers arrived on time , introduced thenselves and got busy. It was maybe a 3-4 hour process.
I only called Mandrells because of high recommendation from others, so I can't compare prices etc.
Very pleased with Mandrell's. Very professional, prompt and great service.
We got a discount coupon from an internet site . Booked online. Estimate was done on line via information we provided and an additional discount was offered if we would e-mail pictures of the job requested. We did so and received a prompt return estimate that we signed and faxed back. No one came out to confirm the job or estimate, which I think was probably good for me , but not so good for the company as the pictures really didn't detail the requirements, though I did my best to add additional information to give them a better idea. They went to great pains to inform the customer that it was not necessary to have someone at home during the job and that valuables and breakables should be moved prior to work starting. Well, for many people that would probably work, but our house is such that you cannot access the porch unless doors are unlocked which also allows access to the house, so having someone at home was a requirement. We also had a lot of furniture, plant, pots (BIG pots) to move, We e-mailed requesting a confirmation of the date and received a return e-mail the evening before the job was to start. Fortunately someone was already planning to be home that day, but it still involved moving patio furniture and plants in the wee hours of the morning before work..
That was the oddest part of the experience. They did a superb job. the house and deck have never looked better and they stayed late in the evening to finish . We received an e-mail bill 2 days later, and a follow up e-mail when the payment was received. I would definitely hire them again.. and hopefully can nail down the job date a bit better.
The work was amazing. If concrete could sparkle, mine would. My house was a mess of mold from all the rain - every bit of it is gone! Our yard has lots of trees, so the gutters were a mess and the pool enclosure was a mess of mold and algae. They did an amazing job of turning a green screen into a black one. And the pool deck is WHITE!!!
I did think the price a little high, but not being totally familiar with pressure washing pricing, I went with it. I will definitely use this company again. The bonus was how courteous the men doing the work were - very polite, friendly, and professional. Very good experience.
