Golden Hammer did an amazing job on our very 80s kitchen! They did a complete gut job, replaced walls, painted, installed new cabinets, countertops, and backsplash. Drew and Shawn are extremely professional, transparent, and responsive. Julio and Steven were also great and professional. We felt safe and comfortable having them in our home. Although they were not the cheapest option, they were very clear on pricing. No items from vendors or subs were marked up - instead, the quote has a line that shows their profit. This was really helpful as we could get a clear handle on costs. They also contract with a real artist for tilework. We had a different pattern for our backsplash that involved "random" placement of certain tiles. Robert took extra care to ensure he understood the pattern, and the result is stunning. The only con is that our main lead was let go from the company towards the end of our job. This meant that some final touches were dragged out a bit longer than we felt they should have been. However, this was minor and handled with us in a professional way. We would happily work with Golden Hammer again!

Golden Hammer was very professional and did great work on our kitchen and bathroom remodel. A few issues came up, as they will, but Bobby was always communicative and kept us posted on what was happening and what we could expect. When we decided we needed a different size cabinet after the first one had already been installed, they were happy to accommodate, and they came up with creative solutions for some of the quirks in our 40+ year old house. We're super happy with our new kitchen and bathroom vanity!

Shawn was very prompt and helpful with the estimate process; he saved me money by avoiding unnecessary work. He really understood my budget and needs. My project was probably relatively small for Golden Hammer, but I still felt valued. General contracting has so much going on and so many things to consider, but things still went about as smoothly as possible. There were a couple little hiccups, but Golden Hammer was committed to being 100% satisfied with the final product. I have a very sharp eye, and Shawn does too -- at one point he had some flooring re-done which he wasn't satisfied with. I worked primarily with Brandon who was very good to work with, and all the workers were great. The tile and cabinet guys were terrific. Golden Hammer has a great network of workers, and nearly a year after the project, everything still looks brand new. My kitchen and bathroom look great, and I'd hire them again for any major remodel project!

Brandon and his door/window supplier looked at the existing doors, and it turns out that most of our problems were caused by faulty installation done for the previous owner. New doors were ordered and installed. The doors took a couple of weeks to arrive, and installation started quickly after that. The carpenters were top-notch and did an excellent job. Brandon inspected the job as it was underway and made a few small but important improvements, such as sealing the gaps between door and frame with expanding foam. The final result, after painting, is wonderful- the doors are attractive and seal perfectly.

We could not have been happier with Golden Hammer. From our first meeting, they knew exactly what we wanted and what we were going for. They were very responsive. Everytime we had a question or concern, we received a response within the same day, usually within an hour or two. Any hiccups along the way were handled professionally and quickly. The workers who were on site doing the construction were so polite, even with our dogs barking and toddlers constantly staring at them through the windows. The project took a little longer than the original estimate they gave, but it was finished well within the deadline when we needed it done. The whole renovation was much less stressful than I imagined it would be and the finished product is beautiful! Can't recommend Golden Hammer enough!

Shawn and Drew (GOLDENHAMMER owners), where very punctual, and attentive to our wants and needs. All of the subcontractors performed their jobs in a very professional manner, while making sure everything was completed as we wanted. The sequence of work was excellent, as the foundation had to be poured before the framing, and the framing before the roofing. Everything went very smoothly, with Shawn and Drew constantly checking in making sure we where happy with the work and progress.
The inside project required the removal of a ceiling, all the insulation removed, new lighting, insulation, and ceiling. A 28 foot beam had to replace the weight bearing removed wall and all went very smoothly. The area was blocked of with plastic so the dust and insulation did not filter throughout the house. Brandon, their onsite supervisor, was very helpful with suggestions and always available.
I would not hesitate to hire them again, and have referred several friends that needed renovations to them. They restored my confidence in contractors again!

Our 1980's kitchen and bath needed to be completely redone. We initially contacted a total of six different contractors in the Gainesville area. Golden Hammer provided a detailed, itemized estimate at a competitive price. Both Shawn and Drew made us feel like they had a good understanding of what we wanted done and the feedback and communication was very good. They always returned our calls and worked hard to solve any problems while always being polite, professional, and respectful of us and our home. We were especially happy with their tile subcontractor Amos. His planning and attention to detail made for a great finished product. We recently purchased this house and now it truly feels like our home.

We worked mainly through Shawn, who was extremely professional. He was upfront with us about Golden Hammer's pricing, which was a bit higher than some of the other quotes we received. However, we got the impression that those cement companies didn't really want the job because it wasn't a huge contract and was slightly more complicated than your typical slab pouring job. We would have liked a lower quote (who wouldn't?), but we can't argue with the results, and even though we received a number of lower quotes, none of those companies were willing to perform the work. Once we gave Golden Hammer the go ahead, they scheduled our job for a week and a half later.
Shawn's crew actually arrived an hour early, and he made sure that our ceramic floor and front porch were protected with heavy duty paper. They got to work immediately, and I believe the concrete was completely poured within 90 minutes. One worker stayed around all day to smooth the concrete out, and he cleaned up all of the debris before leaving. The next day, Shawn sent us an email asking if we had any further questions. I've worked with other contractors in the past, but if this is the level of workmanship and responsiveness that you get by paying a little extra, it's money well spent.
A few days ago, I noticed that our garden hose sprayer was broken and leaking. It wasn't leaking before the job, but it was leaking afterwards, and it was one of the two garden hoses that the crew used. I'm not sure if somebody stepped on the sprayer head or ran over it with a piece of equipment, but accidents happen, and I'm not going to lose any sleep over a $10 garden hose attachment. I just thought I'd include this in the interest of full disclosure (I can't even say with 100% certitude that it was the workers' fault. It might have just broken from general wear and tear, but the timing was a bit suspicious). Regardless, we're very happy with our choice to go with Golden Hammer, so if you're looking for a solid job done in a reasonable time frame, you'll be very satisfied with them too.
*Edit*I hadn't yet spoken with anybody at Golden Hammer about the hose (and probably wasn't going to either because it's really not a big deal), but today there was a brand new hose and hose head sitting outside our front door. Needless to say, I'm impressed by this display of honesty and integrity, something which I've unfortunately grown to not automatically expect from contractors in general.

The project went very smoothly. Shawn listened to our preferences and helped us pick the perfect tile for our bathroom. The workers always showed up on time and were very professional. They were careful to keep the dust contained in the bathroom so our whole house was not dusty. They vacuumed and even mopped our floors where there was any dust or dirt from the project before they left the house each day. They were easy to work with and answered our calls, texts and emails right away. We were kept in the loop throughout the project so we knew what progress was made each day. The finished product is beautiful. The tile work is very well done. They are very detail oriented and it shows in the finished product. I would absolutely recommend Golden Hammer to friends and neighbors.

The Golden Hammer crew began approximately 2 weeks after getting the estimate. I found them to be very professional and highly competent. They stripped back shingles around the chimney that appeared in poor condition, exposing some rotten roof sheathing with a hole in it. All of the cedar siding was removed from the chimney. They expertly repaired the roof, reflashed the base of the chimney in a far superior manner than previously done, and then replaced the chimney siding with hardie board. New matching replacement shingles were weaved into the non-damaged shingles. The chimney was then painted with paint I furnished, as I am currently painting my house. The finished product is excellent, highly durable, and in keeping with Shawn's promise that it would be better than it was when new. There were no add-ons to the original estimate. I would not hesitate to use Golden Hammer for any future projects.

We have the upmost and highest regard for Golden Hammer. During the planning and designing of our new home, Shawn really listened and accommodated our requests creatively designing and building a beautiful contemporary house. Throughout the whole process, it was easy to contact and work with Shawn and Drew. Everyone involved in the construction of our home was professional and courteous. Our house was built on a lot which had to be cleared and working with Golden Hammer to clear the lot and preserve the natural beauty of the land was superb. The high quality of workmanship was seen at each stage of construction. Great effort was made in building an energy efficient house. We have received our first utility bill and already we can see the difference in having such a solid well-constructed house. When deciding on the finishing touches to the house, it was wonderful in getting feedback on which materials would really work well and have lasting value in the house. Let me first say my husband and I are serial remodelers and we have done several similar projects. This was by far our best experience! Shawn and Drew were fantastic to work with throughout the project and very easy to reach by phone, text and email.
They were extremely helpful during the design phase as they truly listened to our wants and needs. They offered great ideas and were genuinely interested in making our home our dream home. We were constantly updated with schedule and pictures of the progress (as we were not yet living in Gainesville).
They have a great team of workers, everyone was extremely kind and helpful. Several issues from previous owners A/C work were discovered by the crew during the renovation. We immediately received pictures via email and a phone call to discuss the problem. My husband commented that it would have been very easy and convenient for them to ignore this problem and cover it up. He was really impressed that they took the time to point this out and go above and beyond to fix this problem that would have cost us more money in the future had it not been take care of.
The quality of the work was excellent everything turned out better than we could have imagined. My husband was amazed how clean and organized the house was kept and blown away with the attention to details.

Our MRI center underwent a serious renovation follow the purchase of a new high field scanner. The renovation involved demolition of an exterior wall to remove the old scanner. The new scanner was installed and the exterior wall was rebuilt with a new 5x8 window. The wall was built to blend in with the old exterior seamlessly. Golden Hammer Inc. worked with another construction company to replace the existing wall and install the new window.
In addition to the structural changes, Golden Hammer Inc. designed and remodeled the lobby, kitchen/staff break room and bathroom in the office. Their designs were contemporary, yet timeless and gave our office a beautiful sophisticated look that fit very well with our new scanner. They found materials that fit within our budget but also made our office unique and beautiful. The changes made to the bathroom really brought it up to date and we feel more than comfortable that we can accommodate our patients.
The renovations were exactly what we asked for ascetically, but they also met the standards set by the MRI manufacturer. A highlight of the remodel was a custom desk that Golden Hammer Inc. built for the technologists. The granite matched the paint and flooring and also housed the necessary equipment for the MRI techs. The custom cabinets allowed us to store our medical supplies, radio and computer out of sight of our patients. The desk is stunning, but its function was not compromised. At our Open Houses we have received many compliments on the desk. It is now a focal point in our office.

Shawn did excellent work on my chimney repair. The chimney structure was rotten from water damage and most of the frame had to be replaced along with the hardy board siding on the outside. Shawn came in and gave me a quote on the job very quickly and efficiently. The job was done on on time and is now structured better than the original construction. I will definitely hire Goldhammer again. And hoping Shawn gives me great price on my next job because I'm giving such an excellent review ;) !

Shawn and his team did an excellent job with our remodel job. Although the job did take longer than expected we were kept informed at every step and delays were mostly due to deliveries of ordered materials. Shawn made sure that the job site was kept clean and that we were able to continue normal activities as best we could under the circumstances. When little problems appeared Shawn handled with great professionalism and we felt he had good experience, knowledge and managerial skill to insure that the end result was of a very high quality. We have no qualms about recommending Golden Hammer.
