Gator Heating & Air

Gator Heating and Air Conditioning sent some angry old guy to my house at 9:30pm while it was 80 degrees in my house so he could stick a thermometer in the coldest part of the ineffective portable AC units they gave us (the same ones that when googled are described as ineffective by literally every website to be found) and "prove" my girlfriend and I were being 'entitled' about the conditions of our living space. Apparently the definition of 'entitled' is a combat veteran getting a Master's degree who wants it to be under 85 degrees in his home at a time when he needs to be able to think. We all know these people stopped being educated at the age of 16 when they dropped out of their podunk rural high school but I don't see how the fact that they don't understand that thinking critically for long periods of time is harder when it is extremely hot is my problem. Whining about it directly to me is definitely unprofessional. While in our home he was illegally recording us and attempted to use his sad, old anger to intimidate my girlfriend and I. Some dumb old guy getting salty did little for me but my girlfriend told me that she didn't feel comfortable with him in our home anymore so I told him to leave. When told to leave, he switched from trying to be intimidating to mumbling about Jesus while bowing to me. It was as bizarre and quasi-pathetic as it sounds but he did leave so whatever. These are the type of people that have allowed wearing a mask during a pandemic to be politicized as if having something in front of your mouth when you cough won't block particulate matter just because you for a game show host to be President. Are we 'great again' yet? To summarize - I wouldn't recommend this turd of a company to my absolute worst enemy because I respect my enemies. What I don't respect is a bunch of uneducated, whiny snowflake boomers (who are incredibly bad at installing air conditioning units of any size or shape) coming into my home and making their inability to behave professionally or intelligently my problem. They wouldn't even stand behind their behavior over the telephone, choosing instead to insist that I was the one behaving like they were (classic lowbrow boomer projection) before hanging up and screening my calls. This company and the people who work at it have no redeeming qualities and should be run out of business. Take your money elsewhere.

They were great! I contacted about 6 companies. They were very responsive, quick to answer questions, and knew what they were doing. They did not try to charge me too much money, as a couple of companies wanted to put systems in that would not work in the condo due to the age of the pipes. They knew the condo unit exactly, and sold us a great system at a great price! Thanks Gator!! And Go Gators!!! CHOMP, CHOMP!!! :)

I was very satified. They said that they don't need to look at any new units until the end of the first year, but to call them if there were any problem. They were good, because I got a carrier unit. It depends what you buy, is what you pay for. It was expensive, but it will last. I was happy. It's good quality. They were there fast.

I received a phone call the day prior to scheduled installation from Nate to let me know what time technicians would be at my home for AC installation. Mike and Todd were at my home promptly and were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves. I was very impressed with the job they did. Thank you Gator Heating and Air.

Sean answered my many questions. I believe he recommended an only truly necessary repair (of a weak blower motor capacitor) and guided me in how to make future repair versus replace decisions.

Nate and his crew were all professional and concerned about doing excellent work. Nate answered all of my many questions promptly, patiently and thoroughly. It took us over a month to decide on the system we wanted, but there was never a hard sell or any kind of push, just the information and opinions we asked for. We were always treated with respect. The work crew were all proficient and tidy and worked happily together. They answered my questions and showed me how the system worked and pointed out different parts when I asked. They checked and sealed existing ducts. We decided to purchase a system that was extremely energy efficient, so the cost listed may seem high, but we hope to recoup the savings by using less electricity.

Brandon came out last night and provided a very detailed estimate for a new air conditioner. He was very knowledgeable and through. He spent a lot of time going over different options for our unit. We live in a historic home in Alachua and unfortunately our unit is in the attic. Some people came out and declined the job because it was such a tight space. I appreciated these companies honesty, and one of the companies actually recommended Gator to us. We had them on the list to call, it was reassuring other companies also recommend Gator. I'll post again if we end up going with Gator.

Offered to replace the entire system, even though they admitted ONLY the coil was bad...NEVER SAID ANYTHING about the heating in our house but bellyached like a crybaby to my tenants and told them THEY MAY NOT WAKE UP" when he NEVER said ANYTHING to me about the heating..They admitted they NEVER EVEN TESTED IT.,...This company changed their name to GATOR HEATING AND AIR. They are licensed under SWAMP HEATING and AIR and probably changed their name when they got 3 CITATIONS from the State of Florida...currently ONLINE public record in DBPR website...

Brandon was the service provider. He was incredibly prompt, friendly, and informative without being pushy. I will use their services again. Highly recommended!

The heater in my home stopped working over the weekend. I called Gator Heating and Air Conditioning at 8 am Monday morning, they had a repair tech out to my house by 11 am and had it fixed within an hour after arrival.

I continue to be impressed with the competitive, timely, professional and friendly customer centered service from Gator Heating and Air. Found them in the phone book (I'm a UF Gator Alumni) and called them three years ago to to get a price comparison on a new outside A/C unit at our rural second home outside Gainesville. Price was good and they worked around my schedule to install the new unit. I rely on Gator Heating for the regular maintenance of the unit. Everybody I've meet or talked to at the company from Mike on down have been professional and friendly and most importantly helpful. The two technicians that I have personally met (Tim and Brandon) really seem to know what they are doing and have years of experience. The response time is quick and they show up on time. I trust the company to do what needs to be done even if I'm not there. Don't know if I'.m getting special treatment but I feel like they always put my interests first which is pretty rare these days.

Mostly recently I called them at 4:30 pm because my A/C unit wouldn't start. The technician (Tim) arrived at my house in less than two hours, quickly diagnosed the problem and took the time to show me what the issue was (apparent lightning damage) and explain what repairs needed to be done. The company took care of all the warranty paperwork and finished the repair in a timely manner.

I got lucky finding Gator Heating and Air and would recommend them to anyone. I know I won't use anybody else. Thanks again Gator Heating and Air. Keep up the good work and know that I appreciate the exceptional customer service you have provided.

15 years of home-ownership in 2 states, and I have never had a service experience of any kind even close to this.
  Over a Saturday night in June, the AC stopped cooling, no real difference in the hot and cold sides of the coolant lines pointing to a refrigerant issue.  Gator Heating and AC is one of the few to even provide Sunday service calls and at a rate only marginally higher than regular diagnostic rate ($20 more, and absolutely worth it for not having to take off work during the week).  I'd checked reviews here and on Google reviews before calling.
  Nate was responsive and professional on the phone setting up the service, and as promised, called when he was on his way from his previous job.  He quickly found a leak from two of the copper lines rubbing together over time, brazed the copper to fix the leak, and fully recharged the system (6lbs).
  In talking and checking the system, he came in to look at the inside components.  We'd had annoyingly high fan speeds and oddities with the system since purchasing this house 2 years ago.  Nate, again, quickly determined that the interior fan unit hadn't been set up to match the exterior unit (several tons difference).  Moving three or four wires, he fixed the fan speed and noise issues.  He also figured out that the unit had initially been cross-wired with the thermostat, resulting in the emergency heating coils activating when the unit was trying to cool the most (2nd-stage)...making it doubly inefficient.
  There are stickers indicating repair from three other AC service companies on the unit since new installation 10-years ago, and two prior owners over that time as well.  In less than an hour Nate fixed the immediate problem, and also fixed problems that had undoubtedly been issues for a decade and that others had repeatedly overlooked.  From the time I called until the time Nate was finished took just over 3 hours on a Sunday, and most of that he was on previous jobs.
  I'm looking forward to lower utility bills, improved cooling, less fan and duct noise, and the knowledge that I've found the local company that I will go to for any and all AC / heating issues.  I'll also mention, while I've relied on reviews from others, this is the first time that I've been moved to review a company like this.
