Good selection of equipment and classes. A little pricey but decided to give it a try. Used the facility for about a year. Lost my job to no fault of my own. Was only able to deal with my contract recruiter. I let her know 3 months in advance I needed to cancel due to my job ending. I have this documented in email. Spoke to the recruiter twice on the phone. She called to offer me a 3 month payment deferment. Which I agreed to over the phone after much begging on her end, and her saying this was her way of helping me during a bad time. I explained to her that this wasn't in my budget with the loss of my job. She assured me that she would cancel my contract for a couple hundred dollars at the end of the deferment period. This was far from what happened. She would not answer my phone calls, or emails, and turned my account over for collection. I was served papers and sued for $1794 by John Hayter's office. When I showed up to court I brought my emails, explained the situation, and was told by Hayter's legal counsel to take the offer, and pay the fees (which included the membership cancellation of a few hundred dollars, and all about $1400 in court costs). That is would be 4-6k in fees if I tried to defend my case. Since that time, Hayter's office has tacked on $2794 in interest on an account that was suppose to be frozen, in addition to the $1600 in payments I have already made in the past 5 years. So essentially, this debt is worse than a buy here pay her car loan or high interest credit card. Do not get mixed up with GHFC unless you plan to pay your membership annually. The owners are aware of what they pay John Hayter's office to do. This is a side business for them to keep income coming in at a high interest rate. Not a reputable company! If I had know this I would have argued my case and took the 4K+ in punishment fees just to prove that the recruiter was a liar, and did none of what she said she would do initially. BEWARE!

They do a super job and it was excellent. They have a lot of variety in their group of exercises that's why I like them. I think their price is really competitive and they were very good.

hI have been a member of the fitness center since the 80's so my annual membership fee is outstanding. I attend the Women's Center and highly recommend the morning yoga classes. Debra's class is fantastic.

When I joined in the late 1970s, it was a yearly fee. I think it's around $300 now. I know the owner very well and he's a great guy. He goes to the gym and knows people's names and recognizes them by their first names. He's very personable and a very hard worker. I've never seen anybody put so much into one effort in my life. he deserves everything he's got. He's got a great place. It's probably one of the 5 best gyms in the United States. It's a good and huge place.

I like them because of their variety of exercise equipment and classes offered, and their operating hours. I chose them because they had the best equipment and an indoor pool.

He has been with them for ten years and he has always been very happy there. He likes all the equipment they have, he likes the facility itself and they are always there to help him if needed. They are always clean and it is just very good. We have other gyms here but he likes that one. They are very up to the minute on everything. He has never complained and he doesn't really like going anywhere else. It is $38 a month and I pay it, and I think after all these years, they could give us a better deal. They have high standards and high quality. They are very professional. The customer service is very good and he never had problems dealing with them.

It is an excellent facility. They have a wide variety of classes that you can take at various times. It has extensive weightlifting and cardio equipment. It has a pool. It is clean and there is typically very little wait to use the machines. There is an orthopedic and sports medicines center that is affiliated with it but I don't use that.

I went in for a and quot;test workoutand quot; and was given a nice tour by one of the salesmen. I appreciated that he showed me everything quickly, told me everything I needed to know, and didn't give me a really hard sell. Instead, I was able to work out on my own and really try the gym out. With the free childcare, you really can't beat this if you have small kids.

I've been using them for 5 years. I get personal attention and they are not very crowded. They have tons of equipment. They have 3 locations so it is convenient to go at all times. They have pools and saunas at the big facility. They also keep my kids while I work out. I will absolutely continue to use them.

Clean and updated facility. Convenient location and hours (24 hours). They do an excellent job of keeping the environment and equipment clean. Also make reasonable efforts to fix broken machines and update the equipment. Fitness counselor readily available to answer questions. The employees are enthusiastic and it is easy to see they love their line of work. Highly recommended facility

This a great gym! They have a great staff to help with proper technique on machines or answer any kind of questions. They have 3 locations and I utilize all of the locations. They offer several group fitness classes which I take advantage of. The classes are offered at all different times and at the different locations which makes it very convenient to make a class and fit it within my schedule.

There are both positive and negative aspects to the main GHFC fitness center on Newberry Rd. The main positives of the fitness center are the following: (i) it is spacious and it contains a good variety of fitness equipment, (ii) it is mostly open 24/7 (although the holiday closings always disfavor anyone who works out late night/early morning), (iii) it is kept very clean, and (iv) the staff members are courteous and helpful. There are some major negatives, however. By far, the most important problem is that the climate control is terrible. It is usually much too hot in most areas of the center for much of the year. It is okay in the winter months, but it usually too warm for about 8 or 9 months of the year and it is horrendous during the summer months. Last year (2009) was the worst since I’ve been a member. From April onward, it was usually at least 75F in most workout areas and there was about a 3 or 4 month period last summer in which it was typically in the range of 77-80F. The only reason that I continue as a member is because I have a very low annual renewal fee (as part of an agreement made when I joined the center many years ago). If not for the low renewal fee, I would definitely be checking out other fitness centers that have a lower indoor temperature. The center either refuses to run the air conditioning system to maintain a reasonable temperature and/or they will not upgrade the system if that is the source of the problem. Instead, they took out a whole bunch of wall fans (apparently because they were blowing fuses frequently) and installed a huge ceiling fan which only helps if you are directly in the area of the fan. It appears that the owner is more of a style-over-substance type of person. He won’t keep the fitness center at a reasonable temperature, yet the center is frequently being painted and he must have spent a small fortune on an unnecessary upgrade of the lobby area. Another example of style-over-substance is that the center has a whole bunch of silly “inspirational” quotes put up on the walls, yet it has had problems at various times with a deficiency in some small items that tend to go missing (e.g., pins, clasps, and hand grips for some weight machines; dumbbells; backpads and belts; etc.). There are a few other problems with the center, but the only other significant one that will be briefly mentioned in this review is the music. The main complaint is that it is played too loudly (although the music selection is also pretty bad most of the time). Fortunately, however, the late evening/early morning staff are very nice and they will usually turn the music volume down upon request. However, why is it even necessary to have annoying music blared through numerous overhead speakers when most people have MP3 players and/or they can plug headphones into the audio ports on the aerobic equipment in order to listen/watch the music channel or other video channels?
