We have found them to be responsive, concerned, and professional in all
dealings. Our vehicles travel a great deal and are high mileage. The
team at Dave May's Automotive keeps us on the road. They have handled
service as simple as oil changes to complicated diagnostics and repair.

They do excellent work, have come in at estimate, and stood by the work they have done. Being a woman getting auto repairs, they have proved they are trustworthy, and didn't take advantage of my "ignorance" of the auto repair world. They explained all they did and patiently withstood my many questions.

They did good work on the car, the estimate was what the final charge was, even though they did several things that were above and beyond what we had thought was needed. They also stand behind their work.

The price is alright. I just didn't like that they recommended that I replace both of my front axle assemblies when I only needed one of them replaced. That does not gain my trust.

Since it is a classic car, I took it to them and told them no rush, work on it when you have time, and keep me updated. They called me several times with updates and even arranged to have one of the service techs to either take me in to get it, or bring it out to me. I think in general they got enjoyment out of working on it. When it was finished I was pleased at how close to quote it was, considering the fact that they ran into a few unexpected twists in repairs.

Did a great job, estimate was reasonable, and they were available quickly. We wanted someone who could come in and paint soon after our closing, so we could move into a freshly painted home. They did a great job, and took good care of our hardwood floors. We will definitely use them again for future painting needs!

I've had a lot of service with them. They are not cheap. There was a bad valve in the coolant system that was causing the engine over the coolant to drain out. They are fine. I use them a lot because they are very reliable. If they don't get it fixed right away, they will work at it very seriously. They are fairly expensive.

They provided an assessment of the battery problem and got me a rebate on the new one even though I didn't buy the original from them. They found some serious wear in bearings and recommended replacing them soon. I've gone to them several times and have always felt they are upfront, honest, sincere, and care about the quality of their work. They're very professional and smart. I keep going back to them because I trust them. + they sponsor public radio.

Dave Mays is not cheap, and I'm not convinced they're any better than other mechanics. We have another car that we had diagnosed by them last year (2010, coolant leak), where they said basically the radiator and associated cooling elements needed to be replaced ( $700 + repair). Then took it to another and he did a $150 repair, solved the problem, and hasn't recurred.

I have utilized Dave Mays services for over ten years so obviously things generally go well since I keep going back to them. I put a lot of miles on my cars and I run through a lot of cars. They are knowledgeable and have dealt with every issue I've had, I recommend them with no reservations. How many mechanics can you say that about?
