He said he lived near me and would leave work early and make my home his
last stop. He looked at my bathroom and promised to provide the estimate in the next day or so. I am still waiting. I think his real intention was to get off work early because he had his kids in the car already. I don't think he ever intended to provide an estimate. I would not use this company again.
Over all the issue was taken care of.
I’m just not sure if it was a more serious issue if the guys they sent would know what to do.
Band H has done work for us for many years , , , I just called them again today to look at a slow draining toilet! They are always prompt, courteous and fairly priced.
"Memebr after reviewing our records you stated we did not show up April 17, 2013 for an estimate. However, we were at your house April 18, 2013 working and were paid by you. We appreciate your business and would have been glad to provide you a remodel estimate on either day. I apologize if there was any misunderstanding. I am truly sorry you did not contact us personally over the last two weeks so we could resolve it for you."
Upon his return, the plumber had an attitude and I explained I was upset that my bathroom has burn marks on the wall and the pipe was still leaking. He said he would deal with it. He did something and left without any communication with staff, as he walked out to his truck and just drove off.
So, now I look at the bathroom and find it's still leaking and we cannot see anything has been changed. I call the office and this time I was a lot more firm with them and said we needed a plumber to fix the actual problem. Band H Plumbing had their plumber call me and it was a very heated exchange of words. I explained that after two attempts, we have not moved forward and I have a leaking pipe still but have also gained damage to the bathroom walls and vinyl. The plumber told me I should have fixed it myself then! Needless to say, at this point I was beyond angry. I called Band H Plumbing again and demanded that a manager or owner contact me. I received a call from a manager who said he would be out there the next day to inspect the work but in the meantime he would have a different plumber come and fix the leaking pipe. This plumber came out and rather than try to replace just 12” or so of pipe, he said it was better practice to replace the entire run under the sink which he proceeded to do. He did a fantastic job and didn't do any further damage to the room.
Despite a very horrible experience, the manager did call by the next day to check the work and I showed him the photographs I had taken of the work that had been done the day before. The manager apologized and offered a full refund. A check was mailed to me promptly. I don’t want to knock the reputation of an entire company from a bad experience with just one employee, but clearly the employee had quality, communication and anger issues. He should not have been in a situation where he was representing this company.
"Read your review and wanted to publicly apologize for your experience. It has taken me sometime to research your situation. The date said 2007, actually it appears we were there January 2004. Obviously, that was nearly 10 years ago and I was not the owner at the time. Still we are very proud of the fact that we have been in business since 1970. So I must take any bad with all the good to be fair. I appreciate you candor, as well as, the fact that you did mention the problem was remedied and you received a full refund. Of course, that is NOT the way we like to conduct business or treat customers. As you know, being a small business man yourself, your reputation and perception of your company is paramount. Which is why I hate ANY bad reviews or experiences and would like nothing more than to satisfy 100% of our customers! I wish you continued success in your daycare. PLEASE feel free to contact me personally if I may ever be of assistance to you. Sincerely, Bob Kavanaugh President B&H Plumbing & Remodeling"
