Home Inspection
$625
Thought everything went fine until we went to sell our house 3 years later and found that we had Chinese drywall that needed to be replaced! Ended up paying a significant amount to fix. Stay away from this company, they did nothing to rectify my situation!

Home Inspection
$425
Dave arrived 15 min or so before me and started the inspection.
When I arrived he was in the garage testing the garage door. At that point he said he needed to charge me more money because of the detached garage and mother-in-law suite. This didn't make me so happy because we had already agreed on the price over the phone and he had asked me the relevant questions over the phone. The price went from $375 to $425 for just a house inspection and WDO report.
Dave was in a rush and I could tell by the quality of the work he was doing. He had two other inspections planned after mine. He told me there was no dryer vent. When I looked, I found it easily and showed him. He said he couldn't find the switch to the kitchen lights and wrote this in the report! It's right on one of the kitchen walls as I discovered later. How embarrassing to write this on a report that would be given to the seller so that he can repair these things! He failed to note some nails coming up on the roof of the house, and several doors that were not aligned properly. He also missed some bathroom fixtures that were not bolted down. My friends pointed this out later when I showed them the house prior to closing. He didn't even notice the opening into the attic until I mentioned it to him. And even then he just stuck his camera in there to take a few photos. He cited the closet rack as an excuse not to go in. He ran the relief valve of the hot water heater and didn't bother to clean up when the water was all over the floor and the tank.
Dave also had me climb on the roof, and when I was on the roof, he left! He didn't even wait for me to come down and make sure I was safe.
On a positive note, Dave did run the washing machine. Doing that caused water to come out of the pipe. The plumber discovered a bigger problem which was remedied by the seller before closing.
Overall, I was not really satisfied for the money that I paid. He missed to many things and was careless even though I made it clear to him that this was the house we were going to buy and needed a good inspection.
As far as the WDO report is concerned, I felt he didn't do anything in the way of inspection to deserve the $95 he charged for it. Overall, I cannot recommend the inspector based on this experience and based on the money he charged. He was in a rush to finish and go to his next inspection.
