Pavers and Hardscaping Service
$4,000
We gave the deposit and immediately the problems started. Permit was not filled out appropriately - forgot to ask for permit on Pergola. We thought that was an oversight, cld happen to anyone. Next thing they did not show up when they said and did not call. We started calling and finally 2 weeks late they started work. First thing on the list was to move a Strawberry Guava Tree to another spot in yard. Forman said they were not told to move tree - he was very curt with my daugher (I was on a conf call at that moment). As soon as I hung up, I went outside and had him call Shane to verify. At this point, they had already started hacking up the roots of the tree. Shane told him to move the tree, which obviously annoyed him. They then dug up tree and moved it, but it was so badly damaged that it died. Next day I went outside to observe and noticed that the design was not being followed. I spoke to the men laying the Travertine (no forman on site) and showed them my paperwork showing the design. They had never seen it. (No communication between Shane and subs.) They ripped up what they had done and re did it to the specifications. Finally patio work was done, we were told Pergola wld come next week. 3 weeks passed and no Pergola. We called and called. Appt was scheduled several times and no one showed up nor called. We kept calling. Finally, the men came to install Pergola. They worked for a couple of days putting it together and installing. I went outside to look and the Pergola was too far over to one side and was hanging over my house roof on one side, but not covering the new Patio on the other. They had not measured correctly but did not want to dig it up and start over. We started calling Shane again. Finally 3 weeks later he came out and had the Pergola dug up and moved off of our roof and over the patio, but Travertine had to be removed to dig up pergola and not been reinstalled. Shane kept calling and insisting on payment in full. We had inspector come out and it failed inspection. Pergola not installed to code - wld not hold up under high winds of hurricane. We called Landscape Art again -again no return call. At this point, we were almost 4 months into project. My husband called and fired them. We then had to have an architect draw up code design and have the Pergola dug up and installed to code and also attach straps to cross beams. And then had to refinish the patio where it had been torn up to move Pergola. I would never use this company for anything!!! Totally unreliable and unprofessional. Very frustrating experience and I just hope to spare someone else from going through this.
