I bought a Miami Herald dealsaver for $49 that was supposed to clean the air ducts and dryer vents. When he showed up, he cleaned the air ducts, but said that the dryer vent vented to the roof, so he would need to use a snake to clean it and that would be an extra $125 (special price). He did clean it, but then turned the dryer on to "blow out the debris" so there is no way to know how much of it there actually was. He also said I had mold and needed a $500 UV light (which he installed) and sanitation of my system (for another $450). He wanted to sell me a $175 air filter as well, but when I mentioned they were a lot cheaper online, he said then buy it online if you want, but mine is better. It feels a lot like bait and switch. He said everything need to be cleaned and maintained annually as well (half price on the sanitation, plus $250 for the vent cleaning plus $70 for the UV light, so about $500 a year in maintenance).
