I had a flood that damaged a major section of my large living/dining room floor. I had remediation work done twice - multiple dehumidifers throughout the effected area. Initially, Mr.Kephardt was not sure if the floor could be saved and suggested I wait a number of weeks before I call him again for another opinion. Initially, he could have easily told me  that I needed a new floor since the quality of the floor was indeed questionable but rather, he was cautious and came back approximately 6 weeks later. I was pleasantly surprised to hear him say that he felt the drying had worked and the floor could be refinished ($2,100.00r) rather than replaced ($10,000).  Mr. Kephardt has a busy schedule and I had to wait 2 months for my floor to be redone but it was well worth it. The floor came out just beautiful. It should be noted that several years earlier, my water heater leaked into a closet and the small floor needed to be replaced. He told me it was a small job and if I was willing to be patient, he would fit me into his schedule I had to wait several weeks for the floor to be replaced but he did a great job. In both cases, Mr.Kephardt did the work by himself and he seemed very meticulous with the quality of his work. He has advanced certifications in flooring repair & installation. He was very patient with me in answering my questions and kept to the promised schedule. I highly recommend Mr.Kephardt!

excellent professional work. floors look better than when they were installed

We asked four companies for estimates. Ken was the lowest price, and during the estimate he demonstrated superior attention to detail (e.g., identifying where doors were scuffing floors and thresholds and offering to undercut the doors at no cost as part of the job). Throughout the job, Ken's attention to detail, responsiveness, and passion for his work distinguished him. The heart pine looks amazing! I would recommend him highly for any refinishing or restoration job on older floors (e.g., Duckpond).

THEY WERE NOT ENTIRELY FORTHCOMING CONCERNING A TRANSITION PROBLEM TO THE KITCHEN. THEY REVEALED IT AT THE LAST MINUTE WHEN THE FLOOR WAS COMPLETELY INSTALLED AND THE REMEDY THEY PROMISED NEVER MATERIALIZED. OTHERWISE THEY WERE EXCELLENT, BUT THIS PROBLEM DAMAGED THEIR REPUTATION WITH ME.
