Horrible. After asking me to provide a written explanation 3 times of the frivolous malpractice case against me for which I am insured, and after a month of having my employment contract to review, they call me last minute (the broker himself neglected to give me a phone call even though I asked him to), 2 weeks before the closing, and after I have scheduled the move with my moving company, that they will not approve the loan because I am to "high risk" from being named in one medical malpractice lawsuit. DO NOT TAKE OUT A DOCTOR LOAN WITH SUNTRUST! They are unreliable, and if you have been named in an open medical malpractice case, and/or are starting your job on an income guarantee, they may refuse to go through with your loan at the last minute. This broker and the underwriters of this company are unreliable, and if you are looking for a physician home loan, do not choose them. They do not disclose up front that if you have been named in an open malpractice case they will deny you, and they will not disclose up front that they will not insure doctors employed their first year at private practice with a hospital supported income guarantee. According to The employee Lakiesha that called me to tell me last minute they would not go through with my loan, their justification was that "any doctor involved in a malpractice lawsuit has a potential to lose their license, and we cannot take the risk of giving a loan to a doctor involved in a lawsuit, even if the doctor is insured to the maximum limit by a malpractice insurance company". Lakiesha was also rude and argued with me that she knew it was true if you were named in a lawsuit in any state, you could AUTOMATICALLY lose your license in any other state. Ridiculous to any doctors reading this. If you are a physician, and want to explore a physician mortgage, use a small local bank who lends to regional physicians, like Summit Bank in the Florida Panhandle. They are much more reliable and have much better customer service, and guaranteed my loan in a few hours.
Description of Work: I applied for a physician Loan with John Bauman online with Suntrust mortgage. He preapproved me for a loan after reviewing my employment contract, and I made a bid on a house. Now, 2 weeks prior to closing he has his secretary call me to tell me they are not approving my loan because I am starting my new job on a hospital backed income guarantee and because I have one open malpractice case against me.
