PAINTING: Poor. Interior paint had many bare or light spots during final inspection. Most were repainted, but many continued to be found much later and had to be repainted. WALL REPAIR/SHEETROCK: Excellent. DOOR INSTALLATION: Poor. Didn't paint the over the factory white primer on the new doors or finish the lower sills as required by the door conversion. CABINET REMOVAL: Fair. His sub-contractors took or disposed of the old granite counter tops from the garage after being told I wanted to keep them for another restoration. COMMUNICATION: Difficult. Contractor was pre-occupied with a college graduation and could rarely be contacted promptly. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE JOB: Poor. Blamed poor sub-contractors for the paint. I didn't really care who did the bad job, it was his responsibility to catch the bad paint, lack of door paint, and bad sills on his walk-through. VALUE: I had to have others paint the doors, fix the sills, and repaint many spots. The quoted price was reasonable and would have been an otherwise excellent value had the workmanship been of even average quality. Job completion, though poor, was on time. Draw your own conclusion.
