We had Taylor install our roof in Vero Beach, FL in 2017. They are fantastic! Everything they said they did on time! When one of our sky lights developed a leak 5 years after the roof was installed they came the very next day! We have a 10 year no leak warranty with the roof so it cost us nothing. I recommended Taylor before the leak happened and after the way they responded so quickly to this leak I just cannot put into words how impressed I am with this company! Danny C.

We had a very bad experience with this roofing company. I would recommend people to stay away. The inspector failed the first inspection because there were nail heads poked though the peel and stick all over, there were inch thick glops of caulk all over the roof covering up the nail heads, the plywood ripped the peel / stick in several places, the peel and stick wasn’t installed under the drip edge, there was tons of rotten wood they didn’t replace, and that’s not all of it. We are very disappointed and feel like the new roof we paid for is not new at all :( To top it off the owner Kyle and his helper Ryan have both been rude and short with us.

We had JA Taylor remove and replace the cement tile roof on our home. Weather delays and a shipment error by the tile manufacturer created a problem that Ryan made certain was fixed. A rare display of customer service and integrity in South Florida. Ryan and the crew were first rate, worked carefully and completed a quality installation. Everything was well organized and our yard and driveway were clean when they departed.

I contracted with Taylor Roofing on 1/18/2019 and paid them $5133 to start the job. I was fed excuse after excuse as to why they hadn't started. On 4/30/2019 Ryan called me and told me that the job would never happen unless I paid him more money. I asked about the contract I had with them. He said it didn't matter. I wrote and called the "vice-presidents" of the company, the person that had bid the job and the office manager. No one responded. Five months after having initially contacting them to do the job I was forced to demand the return of my deposit. Buyer beware. Their word and their contract are worthless.
Response from J A Taylor Roofing Inc

"Our contract with Mr. [Member Name Removed] clearly stated that the contract price was for one layer tear-off and any additional layers would be at an extra cost. The roof had two roof systems: one metal roof system and one wood shingle roof system. He also signed a wood sheet contract, well aware that wood replacement would be necessary for his roof installation to be up to building codes. When he was told there would be additional costs as discussed when the contract was signed, he refused to agree to pay for them. He is the one that did not honor the agreement. Mr. [Member Name Removed] is the one who broke the contract, and we did not hold his deposit "hostage". We gladly gave him the original check, since we never deposited his check."

Had new roof put on. Demo crew made a huge mess plus damaged parts of house. They failed the roof inspection 4 times.

I called to schedule an estimate based on the Angie's List site where it's indicated that Estimates are fre.  When I explained that I was purchasing the home and wanted to get a quote on a repair and/or replacement the representative on the phone stated that my estimate would NOT be free and that it was $150 and if I chose to hire them then I would be credited that amount when the job was complete.  Because I was not yet the owner I would have to pay for the estimate.  I find that very misleading and will certainly use another roofing company regardless of the recommendations I have received about this company.  It's unfortunate that it's a bait and switch when it comes to their estimates.  I explained that if I found their estimate to be unaffordable I shouldn't be penalized $150.  She could have cared less.
Response from J A Taylor Roofing Inc

"Since there are no guarantees that a potential home buyer will take ownership of the home, we only offer free estimates to the homeowners. What you are asking for is an inspection of the roof since you do not or did not own the home at the time of your request. We apologize if you found this misleading or a "bait", but in all fairness we are a business and offer the free estimates as a courtesy to homeowners. JA Taylor has been in business for over 50 years and prides itself in providing quality services and product."

The service was good.  The staff was very nice.  There was about eight guys that came out.  It took them about two days.  They left the area very nice when they left.

The sales rep was prompt, informative, and easy to work with. It took several weeks after signing the contract for them to get the permits and schedule the work but, once they began, things progressed rapidly. The crew worked long days to meet our time constraints. The worksite was well cleaned at the end of each day. The roof looks terrific and has received many compliments. The price was thousands less than their competitors. We should note that the gutters were not reinstalled properly - one was even nailed under the new roof - and the job foreman got a bit defensive when we questioned the treatment at the skylight. I guess I might too if people kept telling me how to do my job. We are very pleased with the work and have recommended this company several times since.

J. A. Taylor has many professional people on board. From the salesman Tim to the working with Kyle White, the whole tear off and replacement exceeded my expectations. This firm saved my nearly 6,500 by using their services. I shopped hard and had a lot of quotes and in all honesty I was amazed that their price was so great. I found out in speaking with Kyle was that the other roofers charge a very high fee to tear off concrete tiles, whereas J. A. Taylor has dedicated crews that can rip off and prepare any roof surface without charging like their competition does. I also found out that the Owens Corning product I selected is better than what the competition was trying to sell me. There are shingles being sold to people in the US that come from Canada and there are warranty issues, so I was thrilled to be totally satisfied, have a great transferable warranty and the price was just amazing. No added gotcha fees, change orders or any upsell. I spent a great deal of time on selecting a competent roofing contractor and I will use and recommend Kyle White at J. A. Taylor anytime.

The Sales Rep. worked with me well; was good about answering questions when I had some. The roofing crews were excellent, prompt, and did leave the jobsite very clean, as promised. | |The price I paid was VERY fair; this company manufactures their own metal panels. Their estimate/ final bill was far less than several other roofers I had obtained quotes for. I would definitely use them again, and have referred them to other people. |I am very pleased with the results.

Raul took a look and indicated that cost of repair should be approximately $500 and that the official estimate would be provided within a day or two. The estimate seemed fair enough. When the crew arrived, the field supervisor (Ryan) introduced himself and was very professional. My problem is that the actual repair was very sloppy and they left a large white stain at the peek of my roof. The stain and the sloppy tarring is easily seen from the street. The crew spent a total of 45 minutes on the repair. Maybe if they spent just a few more minutes, the work would have been neat. I made my concerns known to Raul, Ryan, and two office personnel on 11/21/12 and was ignored. I will install a molding over the sloppy repair and hopefully will be able to remove the large white stain. I certainly don't appreciate having to clean up their mess.

October 2013 update. I was able to remove the white stain and there have been no new leaks for almost one year. I therefore improved this rating to a "C".
