1) The granite countertop measurements failed to take into account the space required to accommodate faucet movement. This was an issue because the faucet/sink is directly in front of the breakfast bar which was measured with a slight overhang that encroached into the faucet space. (The breakfast bar is behind and higher than the sink.) As a result, the faucet drills were too close to the edge so when the water lever was raised it hit the breakfast bar overhang. Due to my husband's handiness in adjusting the faucet this near-disaster was avoided.
2) I repeatedly told the manager and employees, and showed them the instructions that came with the glass tile, that the glass tile required special grout. Despite this they utilized their standard grout. As a result, white grout stuck in every knook and cranny in each of the 1/2" tiles - and that's alot of tiles. This required hours (>8) of picking and scrubbing with muriatic acid to remove the grout. (Yes, my husband and I did this cleaning so as not to have to wait on them to do it...stupid us.)
3) There are six places on on the backsplash where the tiles are misaligned, and of course, everyone who sees it eyes go right to these areas.
There were other items that required reworking, but they were resolved. Despite the hassles and the shoddy work, the owner rejected my request for a price adjustment.
Bottom line - There are way too many granite vendors in the sea to deal with these guys.
