Winged Foot Title

You have a choice - choose someone else. I entered a contract to buy a house, and brought an escrow check to this agency on Sept 26. Unfortunately the house did not pass inspection, so both parties signed a release and cancellation agreement on Oct 3. The next day [Oct 4], I called the title company and asked to get my escrow deposit back. She said they have to wait 15 days from when they deposited it, so it would only be available the following Wednesday [Oct 10]. I explained that it is not their money and asked to speak to the owner; she promised he would call back. He did not call back, and after almost two more weeks, I called them back. Chris, the owner, picked up the phone. He insisted that they have to hold my money for 15 days [it was already 22 days at that point!] and offered some BS excuse that somehow, if they return MY money to me earlier than that, someone else would end up paying it.

This was an EXCELLENT contact. A+ for a grade to say the least... I was in the market to hire a title company to conduct research on a property that I was interested in purchasing. Here's why I would choose this company: 1) The owner (Chris Black) answered the phone after 5 PM on a Friday (who does that? Thank you!) 2) Chris spent the time to LISTEN and then explain to me that my particular situation could be tricky, so he suggested that I also consider contacting other experienced individuals in the field. This information was INVALUABLE to me, since I was unsure about what to do next. 3) Needless to say, Chris was professional, friendly, warm and upfront with me. Without even knowing me, he pointed out several important points that I needed to consider. Information is power and networking is king; Chris had both. Again, I can't say enough good things about Chris and his company, top notch.
