Do not use this company. Run away. Mike Cullen is the owner will want all of your money upfront. While we did negotiate to hold some back it wasn't nearly enough. (That should have been my first clue) He is a smooth talker and can make you think he knows what he is doing. Maybe he does and chooses to take shortcuts to make more money.... maybe he doesn't....Regardless , Mike doesn't do the work but instead sends in workers who don't know what they are doing (some underage) and he never shows up to oversee quality and only reacts when you call it out (and he chooses when and how long he takes to communicate). At one point he didn't even know who was on site working because his sub, subbed it out. He makes a lot of excuses about family emergencies and so much time goes by when there are issues. It takes a lot to get him to even show up to even see the issues. The bottom line, he did our entire lanai wrong and admitted it saying he "made a mistake". Yet he told me he was an expert and did many of these projects. His idea of fixing it was going to just make the problem worse. Thus, after a month and a half and we have dirt piles and stacked tiles. We decided to cut our losses rather than endure one more minute of dealing with a person that shouldn't be in business. The company has an F BBB rating for a reason. We now have to pay another company to come in and fix the disaster that we have for a lot of money.

We contacted Unique Pavers Design for a quote for a new driveway, walkways and patio. The staff was efficient and got our HOA required documentation to us the same day as requested. Communication was on point and Owner Mike and crew were pleasant and hard working. Owner made sure we were satisfied the whole time as the work was ongoing. They did an amazing job! Our property is transformed and improved. We are extremely pleased overall and so glad we chose Unique Pavers Design for our project.

Buyer Beware - several positive reviews which are very, very suspect. Simply check other services (Yelp, Collier/Lee County Courts, Angi, BBB, et al) for the real business reviews and for owner Michael Cullen, easily spotlighting to avoid this company. After receiving many bids we engaged UPD - the lowest bid, Cullen made so many promises that never materialized. Our agreement was to simply remove our driveway/walkway, condition, and install pavers. Forget that every time we called the company to inquire about commencement or anything, there was a different assistant - when an assistant told us that the others had quit the company and she had no idea as to our job. Delivered pavers stayed on our lawn for weeks, then months, while waiting, killing grass and (weight) ruining our irrigation system. HOA and Neighbors complained, while our our calls, texts, emails were met with false promises, time and again. We had to threaten legal action if he didn't start and only after he finally started, he dropped-off his day laborers for the entire day - who went to the bathroom in our yard (because no one showed-up to take them to break or for lunch). While they kept working, absent Cullen, the job which was supposed to be one-day, then two then three (again, all false promises) finished at night, and Cullen immediately demanded final payment. Remember this was "at night" and we were not at home so we would need to inspect the work. As the attached photos show, imagine our surprise when the "work inspection" - the paver color we requested/agreed in-writing, were not what were put down, the depression in the pavers was present (base layer issue), immediate erosion, run-off from rain pooled in driveway, and having to fix lawn/irrigation from his delays. We sued and brought in experts to review his work, their information was startling. Spotlighting that from demo to base layer to supposed completion, every corner was cut. From irrigation pipes broken, inadequate base layer, wrong materials utilized, cheap, not consistent with industry standards, and then we presume he ran out of original requested/agreed-upon pavers, substituting with other colors, finishing at night and hoping we would not discover until after our final payment had been remitted. Once our attorney was involved the false promises continued. On at least 2 occasions, Cullen was supposed to show-up and meet to inspect, but excuse after excuse, "no show" pushed us to remedy in court, receiving a settlement. The pictures don't lie, the court filings don't lie, the other "real" reviews don't lie. Cullen/UPD will attempt to warranty work, but not getting it right the first time (con) he isn't going to be there in the end when you spotlight issues encountered - which are numerous. BUYER BEWARE.

We recently contracted Unique Pavers Design to install a new paver driveway, walkway and pool deck overlay with coping. Mike Cullen and his hardworking men delivered an outstanding job, none of them ever stood idle. Like a well-oiled machine everyone knew their job, we never knew that pavers could be cut with such precision. Mike was hands-on, approachable, responsive to our questions and checked on the crew's progress daily. The front and back of our house looks absolutely stunning and we've received numerous compliments from our friends and neighbors. We had several quotes from other contractors, but Mike's detailed estimate and reasonable pricing sold us. Choose Unique Pavers Design for your hardscape project you will not regret it!!
