Joe Silva was the first to call about my project. He came out that afternoon and gave me an estimate for the job totaling $900. I received other estimates of $1100 and $2000 for the job. I accepted SilvaStone's estimate and we planned to start the job the morning of Jun 26th. Joe later sent me a text stating that he needed me to purchase a 5 gallon bucket of sealant priced at 224.99. At that point I told him that another companies estimate had been $1100 with all materials, and that I was under the impression the quote covered the whole job. He stated that he should have added that to the estimate and agreed to buy the materials and honor the quote for $900. I stated that his offer was more than fair. I offered to pay him $1100 since I didn't want him to have to pay the whole cost of the materials not mentioned in the quote. To make it fair to both of us he said he would do it for $1000. Thursday 6/26 at around 7:30am, work began on the project. The first day was pressure washing and leveling a couple of low spots near the garage and the side door entrance. The two man crew was done at 11:00am. They arrived back to sand and seal at 12:01pm on Friday 6/27 and left at 2:10pm. I was surprised that the driveway didn't have a shine to it from the sealant. I was also surprised when he told me I could park on it right away. Other jobs I've seen in the neighborhood had the driveway taped off for two or three days. Joe told me the driveway would take on a shine once the rain settled the sand on the pavers down. This has not happened. The pavers look washed out in most places and is not what I expected at all. I am not sure that the company had the proper tools to seal the driveway correctly.
