Sears

I had a horrible, horrible, horrible experience with them. The only reason I called them is because they are listed on Angie's List. They told me it would be $99 and when they got there they said it was $99 just for them to come and give an estimate. I was only there for the weekend. They said it would be $299 to put it in. I felt trapped with it but I was running out of time so I said ok I'll pay that. Then the guy said but if we have any problems and we can't get it in you still have to pay $299. So he's there not even an hour and then he says you don't have any water hooked up for me to plug it into so I can't do this and you still owe me $299. 

Since then I called that day 2 different numbers that they had given me to get help. I talked to the guy's supervisor and he said no you should have had the water hooked up already. They are not plumbers. They can't do that and you owe us $299. I told him the guy didn't get it hooked up and I'm not going to pay that. So I called Sears and 2 different people I talked to said they would send somebody out to finish the job. I never heard back from Sears. So that next week I called the store manager and talked to him about it. I specifically asked the guy that came out if he was an employee of Sears or if he was a contractor and he said he was an employee of Sears. That was a lie because he is an employee with another company. I can't find their number to call them. I've called different numbers with Sears and the guy left while I was talking with Sears. I told Sears that I was willing to pay the $99 because he didn't hook it up. I ended up having to pay a plumber to come out and do it. Nobody from Sears has called me back. I've probably explained the story 8 times. The problem has still not been taken care of and now they say they are going to take me to small claims court.

The responsiveness is where they fail. They went over their time window and they didn't call. I called them once and they lied. Then they didn't call and they just showed up an hour past their window. They were not very nice about it or apologetic.

They did a great job. The pricing was good for the service because they had to move the furniture and everything.

I would not recommend them. The refrigerator finally broke down. I had to call the headquarters and talk to the manager. This was after a year that we had purchased it. They said that the warranty had run out. They ended it up letting us go in and choose one that would be the same price which is what we did. When it went out, some of the food spoiled. We turned in a claim but they said we can't because we already turned in a claim for replacement. I wrote a letter to the management and they got it done. The price was good.

Sale went well; the salesperson knew their products, listened to my needs, & made appropriate suggestions. 
However, delivery was a disaster, resulting in a cancelled sale.  This was not helped by a robocall that gave no options.  Nor did it help that future attempts to arrange delivery were unsuccessful.  Everyone was pleasant, attentive & tried to help (with one exception).  To add insult to injury, they called 2 days after the sale was cancelled to try to arrange delivery -- and it was clear that their internal communication system hamstrings their nice staff. 
Sad.  Sears has always been my family's go-to place for appliances.  I am hopeful it will be again if they can restore their delivery/service operation to its former glory.
Meanwhile, I'll buy what I need now elsewhere.

The repair man took out the filter and inspected everything. He said the problem wasn't the fridge, but that we should call an exterminator. The ants were going to the fridge because it was so dry and they needed water. He didn't charge us, even though he really inspected everything.

They have a nice watch repair place. I took a watch to them the other day but they couldn’t fix it because they had no parts available. We like them. We do all of our watch repairs and get our watch batteries from them. They try to fix the watch.

We have always been very satisfied with their service.  They do an excellent check up.  I highly recommend them all the time.  Their repair people are very good.

They are good.  I’m on a plan and I’ve paid a one time fee so I didn’t have to pay anything.  I would use them in the future too because it’s their product.
