Jim McCommon came to our house and quoted us for painting our kitchen cabinets along with pin-striping the doors. During this appointment we asked if he used subcontractors and he said no. We also asked if there were any foreseeable problems, because we tend to have bad luck with companies lately, he also said no. We set a date for the following Monday for his company to come out and paint the cabinets. Sunday evening at 9pm, he texted me and asked if he was supposed to be at my house the next day. (That shows he forgot about our appointment). The following morning, He didn't show up, didn't call either. I called him, no answer. The next day, a subcontractor showed up and did a great job but he did admit that he WAS a subcontractor and not an employee of Sahara. It has been a week since the cabinets were painted by the subcontractor but Jim has not shown up to finish my pinstriping and continues to give excuses as to why he can't show up to finish the job. I will not utilize Sahara Cabinets for any future jobs.

The initial contact was positive. I called, they called me back, we set a time for the measurements, James came and measured, then we set a date for delivery and installation. The cabinets were delivered on the date specified; and then it went all wrong! The installers did not show up. I was very upset (as we were on a tight timeline to get the work completed so we could get home to welcome a new gradbaby), and called Sahara. I spoke with Jeff at Sahara, who did not know the installer had not shown up. He set a time to install the next day. The next day Jeff and an associate showed up on time and set about to install the cabinets. I really think I got the best end of the deal, as Jeff did a terrific job, and paid attention to EACH AND EVERY detail. He explained that Sahara subcontracts work, and submits the install orders to the subcontractor via email. The subcontractor who was supposed to do our install said he did not get the email and thus, no show! The least positive thing I would say about Sahara is that they do not communicate well at all. I called/emailed several times during the process to inquire about dates, and was not contacted back. It seemed like their division of labor had specific personnel in charge of specific parts of the job. The specific personnel did not seem to talk with each other, and thus we, the end customer, did not have full information. The best thing I can say about Sahara is that we got a terrific price (much less $$$ than others in the area) and Jeff did an amazing install.

Sahara Cabinets installed a new kitchen in a condo I rehabbed. The project was complete within 2 weeks from start to finish. They always showed up when they said they would. I would recommend this company.

From the very beginning to the end they were just great. If I had questions I always got a response - usually within a couple of hours. They were very detail oriented and clearly wanted us to be 100 % satisfied and we are.
They always showed up as promised. Our primary contact was James. He did a great job and always responded to my questions and I always felt that he wanted to be sure that we would be pleased with the job.

The service of installing the cabinets was good. They did timely and were installed correctly. The guy who owns the place, he is certainly serviceable and personal. The actual product of what they installed on my countertops must have come from the way worth portion of China. It’s supposed to be a solid surface. I went to the store and the variety of options is limited. It’s a small operation and I understand that and I actually want a small business but I don’t know where the h*** they got these countertops from. The water bees on the surface so it was either not sealed correctly or there’s a floor top to it. I personally think that they got it from the roads to China to nowhere. Subsequently, I have talked with him to come back and see if he will look at this because I wasn’t sure and he could not tell me what was wrong. The quality of the product is sub quality and substandard. I heard he is a pretty nice guy but I’m deeply disappointed. I pay a lot of money for that. The cabinet is fine and the cabinetry is fine but the surface on it is substandard, absolutely without a doubt. The cabinet is lovely. He is importing his products from the cheapest provider. I called him several times and I sent him pictures of the cabinetry and once they knew I was unhappy with the product, it was harder to reach him. He always returns every single one of my calls when we were in the fine mode. There was not a problem with their punctuality and installation. They sent people who knew what they were doing. I think he should have returned my calls.

They did a very good job. We were very pleased. They are very prompt. I think their prices were reasonable and competitive. We bought the cabinets and hardware from them and that worked out very well. Everything was very satisfactory to us.

"As a company we would like to repsond to this review with the following: Vanity doors and a Solid Surface countertop was ordered with the customer providing the measurements for both. As a courtesy when we were in the area we stopped in to verify all measurements. Install or measure was not included. The customer also wanted a guarantee that we would be able to deliver by a specific date as their son was arriving and he would be doing the install. We told them we would be able to meet their schedule. We were contacted and told the son was held up and would not be arriving as scheduled and would we please hold the product until further notice, which we did (not a long time period). When we were contacted they were ready for delivery, we scheduled. Upon delivery our delivery guy was told by the customer they wanted the other bath done also and would he measure. Our delivery guy is not our measure tech. The delivery guy took the measurements as best he could and gave them to our production manager who then tried to contact the customer to verify the measurements for pricing and production. The customer took a couple of weeks to return our call and when contact was made we suggested bringing the doors in so we had the correct measurements which he then did. We did not install because we were not contracted to do so. We feel we went above and beyond in stopping in with the first order to verify the measurements the customer had given us and changing the delivery schedule to accomodate the customers needs in spite of the fact we had to be complete by a certain day. We do strive for 100% customer satisfaction."

When the house was built, Sahara installed the cabinets. Even though they knew the cabinets for this development, someone still came out to measure. Because the cabinets are large, a "wall" had to be build in the center in order to affix the shelves to it, i.e., 4 shelves per cabinet. When the installers arrived, they installed the "wall" but found the shelves were slightly too big so they had to take them back to the shop and re-size them. The installer came back the next day and installed them.
The shelves are good quality and are so convenient to have in a kitchen. We had shelves installed in all of the other cabinets years ago. These were the last two. I would recommend not only the roll-out shelves but Sahara as well. Good job.

We were impressed with the professionalism from start to finish. They actually arranged for our granite countertops as well, but I am only referring to the cabinets in this review, so as not to complicate things.
Measurements were taken very accurately; we were given lots of choices as to style and hardware. The installation was flawless and we are very happy with the result.

Sahara came out showed what style and type of doors were available. We chose the type and style that best fit our need and taste. Took approx one day to get quote back. After checking with other cabinet companies we chose to go with Sahara because of price, quality and made in USA. Approx. 7 - 10 days later doors were finished and installed. Installer was very professionsl, took his time and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We will definately choose Sahara for other cabinetry work.

Our general contractor on the project suggested that we get in touch with Sahara Cabinets to get a bid on our cabinet project. Richard Sellars, the owner, and Dennis Bone, sales, worked with us to design our dream kitchen and they suceeded. They both were exceptionally professional in both design and execution. The kitchen configuration provided some challenges in terms of dealing with walls at 90 degree angles and 45 degree angles and a new kitchen island. The results were astounding - in fact, when my wife walked into the kitchen to see it for the first time (we were away for 2 months during the remodel) she had tears in her eyes and couldn't believe how beautiful it looked. The installation was topnotch with absolutely no problems. Everyone who has seen the new kitchen (particularly those who had seen the old one) can't believe the results. My wife and I have rediscovered how pleasant it is to cook, prepare, and clean up in our new, highly efficient kitchen. If you are looking for someone to design and execute a high quality kitchen at competitive prices you can't do better than Sahara Cabinets, Inc.
