I have looked at your invoice and you were charged $58.99/lb for R22 refrigerant when the competition was and is currently charging over $70/lb some as high as $90/lb, We understand and know the value of competitive pricing and that customers are shopping around for the best price as would I. That’s why we offer competitive prices and a commitment to matching genuine like-for-like quotes, However it is not always as simple as it sounds all companies are not equal we have different customer service structure that impacts the overall cost. "Guarantee our parts, price and customer service My name is Marc I’m the General Manager for Penguin Air. I have looked into your account and I’m truly sorry that you feel that our prices are high. However, it was a Saturday and there was not a weekend service or service call charges as others would have charged on top of the competitive priced parts. When comparing prices to our competition we try to stay in the low end where it is hard to maintain when Penguin Air has the staff to be able to dispatch a technician within 2 hours guaranteed! Even on a weekend as you have experienced, and to assure good customer service as you have experienced all of our service trucks are fully stocked with quality parts, we guarantee our parts and labor for 1 year. We are constantly monitoring our competitors prices and sale promotions to stay competitive in this service industry, typically the difference between similar outfits is 5%-10% in your case meaning $15 - $30 difference lower or higher in price, what sets us apart is Staff for customer service, parts stock and guarantee and the fact that we are always open. I would have hoped that you would have called and asked for a manager or a customer rep. to discuss your concern we are always open and ready to talk to customers. "OK, NOW LETS TALK FACTS! Penguin Air service over 4000 customers per year, and performs 100’s of installs annually, yet she is the only customer that felt the need to post a bad review in every website, in fact she has also gone to the BBB and they had dismissed the case as she is complaining without a real case, the system was not sold at $5,000 but at a very competitive price of $4,200 with an in-house interest Free Financing. The system unfortunately broke down on a weekend and nobody has ever denied her service in fact we were there within the hour from the time she called and the malfunction part was changed the next business day not to mention that not 1 tech showed up but 3 were there on Monday morning with parts ready to solve her problem. I am truly sorry about her inconvenience but the review posted was not called for. It is unfortunate that she fails to recognize good service, and in return posts such a bad review causing harm to good customers that deserve the good service Penguin Air has to provide. New system was installed on Thursday June 14th as mentioned, our records show that the system was performing well when the installers left the home. Saturday time stamp was 1pm customer claiming system not cooling, 2:07pm technician arrives at the home. Technician troubleshoots system finds a restriction in what appears to be the TXV valve or coil. I Marc (General Manager) spoke to {member name removed} for a good 20 to 30 minutes trying to explain the reasons why we could not get this fixed this very weekend and had to wait until Monday. Reason 1. Supply house is closed Reason 2. These are serialized parts that must be warranty processed or they will void the 10 year part warranty. Compensation: Customer was given a $100 credit to stay in a hotel if need be for their inconvenience. Monday Morning June 18th. At 7:30 am (time supply house opens) we placed a call to order the coil and TXV Valve, we had located the TXV Valve in Naples and the coil in Ft. Myers. Technician Edwin drives to both locations to pick up these parts, Two installers were pulled from another job to help Edwin with the coil change needed. Not 1 but 3 Technicians show up by 10:06am to try to fix this problem as soon as possible. Penguin Air does not at anytime mention that we would guarantee that the unit will never breakdown, however we do guarantee top customer service as she had experienced, however, she FAILS to recognize that there was absolutely nothing any air conditioning service company could do under this circumstance, it is unfortunate that the system broke down on a weekend and that in order for us to do the work is not a question of our labor force but the fact that the supply house is closed till Monday morning. Nevertheless we have provided a credit towards a hotel accommodations for their inconvenience, this was offered to {Member name removed} a $100 credit to his account in which is a credited amount that we do not offer to anyone. Summary of Customer service response time: Customer calls for service, Technician arrives at their home in 1 hour 7 minutes. Monday morning supply house opens at 7:30am parts are in two different cities, not 1 but 3 technicians arrive at their home with parts by 10am that’s only 2 and a half hour after the supply house opened, and on top of that we had given {member name removed} $100 credit. It is physically impossible to give any better service!"
