From start to finish the job moved along smoothly. The contractor was on time for any and all appointments he made to measure, etc. and he explained the whole process. Since my home was constructed in 2004 and windstorm requirements changed, the job required permitting. The contractor telephoned me and kept me informed as to where the job was as to each step in the process. For example, he telephoned me as soon as the permit was granted. He made sure that the permit was granted before he ordered the materials for the job which took about a week between the time that the permit was granted and the materials received. He then set up an appointment to install the roof and arrived on the appointed day and time. He and his helper worked for 3 consecutive days until the roof was complete. They removed all debris and left the area clean. He then followed up to make sure that the roof didn't leak during our heavy afternoon thunderstorms.
I will use him to install a storm door in the next couple of months.
Finally, I used this contractor because my neighbor had used him to install the same kind of roof on his lanai about 3 years ago. Since my neighbor's roof is beautiful to this day, I expect the same experience. Also, I noted on the Lee County permit website that this contractor has done several jobs in the Seven Lakes community. I checked both the Florida and Lee County contractor websites as to whether any complaints have been filed against him - to date, no complaint has been filed against him. He is licensed both at the State and County levels.
