When built out house had styrofoam bands decorating low and high locations over the stucco finish. Because they were cracking and hard to repair, we wanted them removed, but because the adhesive would distort the underlying stucco, we needed to replace them with something. We decided on stucco bands of the same size, but with raised portions inside of each wide area.
Doug Evans quoted the work when asked, and then due to our delay we waited months before beginning work, after also getting other estimates. While he was not the least expensive, he seemed the most knowledgeable, and most responsive -- he actually would return phone calls, unlike so many others.
He was tolerant of my caution, providing license and insurance proof quickly when asked, as well as reference accounts (one other contender stopped calling me back when I asked for references).
He began on time, and he and his crew were here continuously until complete.
He was careful in the extreme, with plastic to protect pavers, and each day he cleaned up both by broom and vacuum. Stucco is a messy process, and he warned that the surrounding walls would have some concrete splatters, but he was careful to texture them to match (and since we were repainting anyway, texture was all that was important). Overall he did much better than what he had promised in terms of neatness - better to under-promise and over deliver, kudos on that.
The actual work was done very carefully, with Doug doing all the finish work personally. Some of this was on a very high front overlapping a tile roof, with not a single broken tile. He blended the work around windows by hand rather than using forms which would have looked more awkward. The bands were straight (as much as our walls would allow) and even and the forms aligned correctly with each other and the old work area being covered.
Overall I was extremely pleased. I rarely find a contractor who just plain delivers what is promised, on time, on budget (in fact it is a first time since I've been in Florida). I can highly recommend his work.
